Y'know, I always did want to participate in one of these expeditions. Signed up for the 15th.

Proposed route name: Via Colonias (Way of the Colonies... at least I hope. Anyone who actually knows Latin feel free to correct me on that.)

I've created a channel on our Discord named #friends where you can share your commander name and covoy of choice so it's easier to get the pilots in your convoy on your friends list.

Just signed up to Convoy 2. I'm on the SCM anti-clockwise route at the moment, heading to Waypoint 29 - Boiling Cauldron Nebula. I'll go to Jaques and do the second leg to the Bubble with Convoy 2 then fitting out the Adastral to include a cargo hold to go then go back to Jaques with MA to pick the SCM route back up to complete Waypoints 30/31 to 36 etc. Phew. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys.

The expedition is now live on EDSM. I've updated the signup post with a link to EDSM.

Just as a side: we're currently getting all the waypoints into EDSM so you might find a sparsely populated waypoint list for the time being, but we're working on it

I might be back when the first convoy leaves but I'm having " a wee bout of shore leave" so not back until last week August and then I need some refitting doing -but I might follow on later.

So I'll have to revise my participation to only half the trip.

Ok, a trip to Jaques Station, that's about 20KLy one way, let's see now, carry the 1,...that's 40KLy for a return trip! Do you realize how many jumps that is?, are you completely insan...Oh, never mind.

I'll probably pop by Jaques Station with a load of meta-alloys at some point in time. Don't know when, probably soon(tm).

But in a way, the trip there is the return trip, since I'm on my way from Jacques right now.

Hi, as I just bought the game a few days ago and only have about 40 hours in the game with just under 4 million credits, a type 6, and an eagle.....do you think i could come along in the trip with what i currently have....?

Certainly - but the real question is whether you would enjoy it. You could take a shorter tour first, go out around Orion or for a longer trip go to the Heart and Soul nebulae and back maybe.

(The Type 6 is reckoned a good ship for exploration; your minimum serious build would include an A grade FSD, Advanced Discovery Scanner, a Detailed Surface Scanner and a big Fuel Scoop.) A bigger size of Fuel Scoop will be both cheaper and more effective than a smaller but higher class one, so experiment to see what fits your budget. Elsewhere you can mostly fit "D" modules for lightness, though it's best to fit a small but "A" grade powerplant to help with heat management.)

Example Type 6 cheapo explorer. (barebones, there's lots you could add like cargo space, heat sinks, AFMUs, vehicle hangars.)

Personally, wrt. the thread; I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do when I return to the Bubble after my current trip - I'm on the homeward leg now but it will take several days yet - I will have lots of free time soon though so I will probably come along to Jacques.

Also I have about 70mil worth of assets that I want to liquidate before I set off.
What ship should I get for the journey (thinking of doing mining/hauling that side)
So I have about 60mil to spend

Unless I just take my type-7 and re-fit it using 50mil.

What should I do?
