Hi All,
couldn't find anyone mentioning this in a post, so sorry if I missed it. How does the AFM Module (automatic field maintenance) work? I figured it was an auto hull repairer, but I tried everything and couldn't get it to work. I ended up just selling it (at a huge loss )

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, just thought I would mention that I bought one too, and kinda wish I hadn't, should have ticketed, in fact will do that now. unless someone has an answer.

you only can repair modules with it, not the hull.
to do this you open the right hand panel, go to modules, select the damaged module and set it's status to repair.

Auto-field maintenance unit is used to repair ship modules except the drives and the power plant. It cannot be used to repair the canopy breach or to repair the hull as such repairs can be performed at the station only. You can repair the damaged weapons, however they still can malfunction after being repaired on the fly. Malfunction repairs are possible at the station only.

In order to use auto-field maintenance unit for the repairs you need to go to the right UI panel, open modules tab there, switch the require module to Rep OFF. Note that auto-field maintenance unit uses ammunition during these repairs that should be replenished at the station. If you run out of ammunition auto-field maintenance unit won't work.

Note: do not to forget to switch the module back ON after it is repaired.

i stopped counting how many tickets i retracted after i found out there was no bug involved

No need to create another ticket. Simply add a note to the existing one that there is no issue.

I think I read somewhere that someone had requested to be added, the ability to be able to get out and repair your ship. Would probably void the warranty of your ship though
