Automatically retract hardpoints etc. when hitting the FSD button twice.

Yes, I'm too lazy to want to tap separate buttons before going into supercruise/hyperspace. I hit the button, you warn me I've still got all my junk hanging out, let me just press it a second time and have it automatically retracted.

That depends. Being lazy would act like you say. But if you are in a hurry you want to abandon the fighter.

Scoop is essentially the Cargo hatch thus could be damaged by an emergency jump. SLF would be sacrificed even now.

+1 for the damage on extended hardpoints/cargo hatch during an emergency jump - but I would go for 3 presses rather than two with the second press presenting the damage warning. Providing hardpoints/cargo hatch has been closed before the charge finishes no damage should be incurred though.

The warning could be presented during the charging phase though, mitigating the need to implement a multiple press solution.

Not to sound lazy but I like that idea. If you hit the trigger, all your weapons deploy, next hit on the trigger fires something. You can HIT the 'u' to deploy them if you wish (and you can turn that feature off in control options).

It would make perfect sense if you need to jump right now that hitting J pulls in the cargo hatch and retracts hardpoints making the ship prepped for FSD use.

Throttle to 100%
Boost
Throw Chaff
Fire off a SCB
Retract hardpoints
Select next waypoint
2-4-0 PIPS
Engage FSD

This all happens in under 2 seconds. All I need to do is point my ship towards the circle and keep boosting.

Just like we have an option to deploy hardpoints when fire is pressed. FSD activation should have an option to do the opposite.

However I can definitely get behind it
