I seriously see no reason I need to manually set my wing beacon to "on" after just joining a wing... being able to turn it off if needed is one thing but getting into a wing and instead of focusing on whatever I'm about to do I need to turn the darn beacon on?!?

Wing beacon should always be ON when in a Wing.
Just remove the option? Why would anyone ever want to turn it off?
Also, fix the bug where beacon does not show after rebuy. Someone that didn't go boom has to toggle it off then back on for it to show again. (I do not know if this has already been fixed)

The only case I could see where you wouldn't want to do it is if they added more types of beacons - e.g. squadron, distress call, etc. - and you didn't want leaving and joining wings to change your current setting.
And there's maybe occasional cases where you wouldn't want a wing beacon shown - if you didn't want to confuse someone else in a wing of 4 about which beacon to follow, perhaps? I don't know...
But definitely, make it keep whatever setting it was on last rather than resetting to 'none' every time.

the only reason you would want to turn it off is if you were new and find yourself with a wing that wont talk to you but want to find you.... Guess I played too much with Eve and got paranoid lol

But in that case, you simply leave the wing... If you as a cluelesss new player accepted a wing invite you would probably as easily accept a friend request, and now you would as easily tracked until you unfriend that player...

I am for this, and based on how the new UI looks, I wondering if we in a not to distant future would see other options here like Squadron beacon....
If other types of Beacon arrives, then I see some challenges to be addressed, as what should be the default option in that case...

Is there even another option apart from “wing”? If the only people who can see your beacon are wing members, why is on/off a thing? Just have it on all the time and free up some UI real-estate. If you’re in a wing, they’ll be able to see the beacon. If you’re not ... sure, the beacon’s on but there’s no one to see it so who cares?!
