The problem isn't the devices ie, cells, tablets etc. It's the intrastructor. Were as cell phone ability and availability has bern here in Mex. for 5 to 6 years. It started with 3G. Dial up technology, started 10 to 11 years ago and still only available to half the country. There is little to no maintinance because of cell phone internet technology makes money.
Which means dial up is going to get worse and eventualy fail completly. Imagine the cost of playing 10 hours a day, six days a week (my schedual) at a per minute cell phone rate. Though money is not a problem for me. But a per minute rate for 600 a day or 3,600 a week or 14,400 per month. Count me out!
The sad part is: The local broad band cable company here, has just run a brand new fiber optic line, right pass my house. It is the feeder to a new development of homes numbering 500. My barrio (neighborhood) has 10 and 6 of those are vacant.
I was there prior to the internet and or the WWW (there is a differrece). I ran a "Bulletin Board" for an astonomy club whuch grew from 4 to 500. Those were the days before the "http protocol" was invented. After which I became a web master for them. So, I know a bit about slow speed. Mexico adapted the failing dial up American system when America switched from dial up with dsl to strickly DSL. It was a 15 year old system then and even older now. But hey, 50% of Mexico niw has availibity to the Net. Had I bought the house across the street. I'd be in the the other 50%.
