Awful TITAN DRIVE COMPONENT Drop rate, like the good old day's, Pre-Engineer drop rate Re-Vamp.

Material Trader probably would have worked faster in the short term.
I dunno I am not an expert in the material trader but isn't tellurium a high grade gear? I am not sure I have enough other stuff to get the high requirements needed for the larger SCO drives.

to be fair it's a want not a need. I already got the CG reward and I had enough stuff to get a second class 5 so that is both my exploration pantom and bubble runner Asp sorted along with my trade T9. I would like one for my mining T10 however

I feel kinda dopey because I thought I'd need to have the full mat set per drive. I went out, farmed up the mats, and am sitting in Hutner in Luyten's, and there does not seem to be an unlock /purchase option. I currently have a 5A pre-engineered SCO on the ship docked at Hutner.
I am pretty sure you do! I don't think you can unlock the blue print you need a full load of stuff for each single drive you want to buy.

TITAN Grave yard drop rate's need to be adjusted, they are awful. TDC's and Caustic Crystala are like hens teeth.

Any help in that area would be a good Xmas present.

I was scavenging a lot and so far I found at least one Titan drive component whenever I was at a site. Like, I visited different sites, and every single debris field had one. So... I don't know. Seems okay for me.

I had all of the mats including the Titan drive component. The option to purchase was not displayed at Hutner even though it is a human tech broker. I had to go do a different human tech broker with the same carried mats to purchase the drive. It might have been a bug at Hutner for it to not display the purchase option since it was the CG reward distribution location? In any case I got my second 5A PreEngineered SCO.

What I hate about low-% drop rates in any game is that I often seem to be extra unlucky. Like, I remember how in a different game, all my buddies had long finished their rare-drop gathering, and I kept going and going and it just never came.

Here, I've been diving for mats yesterday and kept gathering and gathering to make room for more spawns... eventually I got two Titan Drives, when after about 90 minutes I was fed up and left.

Luck is the enemy!

no idea what you are talking about, been to cocijo 3 times, admittedly for extended time, over an hour or two, and walked away with 30 (yes, thirty) TDCs. Crystals maxed out, everything is just fine if you know the trick - don't do it in solo 😄 With even just one other player in the same instance, the drop rates for everything increases significantly.

Maybe there's a trick to it then, or just luck - I was in an instance with 3+ other players and found one in an hour.

Anaconda crash site on Orerre 2b. It won't show up at first on the Navigation panel but the DSS will take care of that. Look for the smaller bundles of grey metal canisters (almost look like softdrink bottles in shape) that are bound together. The bigger cylindrical canisters hold other stuff (gold, palladium etc) that will occupy your SRV inventory space and don't qualify as engineering material.

Watch out for NPC pirates, dismiss your ship as soon as your SRV deploys to the surface

You are correct about there being one in Altair, but if you’re planning to go with more than one drive component per ‘run’, I would really recommend taking a corrosion resistant rack. Even if it’s just one of the tiny ones Palin offers, or the C4 unlock.

(They really should make the C6 more generally available as well but at the same time it’s a rather niche module, so…)
C4 carries 16 tonnes, you need 1 drive components per FSD. How many drives were you planning on buying?

The comment was general, not specific to the task of gathering drive components for FSDs. You won’t have more than a handful at once anyway unless you hoard more of them than you can buy the drives because of the engineering materials also needed to do so.
