AX Missiles... well played FDev

Screw up an update by throwing it out the door without testing and then make up some drivel galnet article to pretend it's working as intended... except the mass zerg instant kill method still works because the health still drops as normal, just heart damage is non existent.

Just admit you screwed up and update the stats correctly, Thargoid hunting was fun, now it's just like it was before the weapons released. i.e. pointless

Very disappointed.

This is preparation for when the Multicannon releases, my guess is that we'll use the MC for the hearts while we use the missiles to expose them

Sure it is, OK if they were adapting to the weapons and missiles payload was useless, why would a zerg instant kill still work? They broke some stats and cover it up with drivel. Try and defend it if you want, it's obvious that this wasn't meant to be like this.

Because it is 12 v 1? Why that wouldn't work.

If it true, it will be worst game decision ever. Make anti-tharhgoids ships more useless that ever, especially, when some player groups already declared war against tharhgoid hunters.

So the amazeballs release of 2.4 The Return, gave us The return of the Thargoids. In a USS you have to look for. Then you get 1 week to use the weapons available to kill them. Then The weapons are nerfed because the Thargoids are adapting to the weapons.

Now, just spiff-balling here.. But.. if the Thargoids are adapting... Wouldn't it make more sense to *increase* the damage of the weapons rather than reduce it? Or is it, they [FDev] made a complete an utter mess of it. Just like they did MultiCrew, and Missions, and Exploration, and Combat.

I can't even explain how mad I am about this. I've let everything before it go so far because I'm not a dev and I don't know what kind of road map they have or what the ultimate vision of this game is supposed to be, but I can't let this one go. This is just unacceptable whether you are for or against fighting the Thargs. The galnet article is the icing on the cake for me. The Thargoids are a biological entity of some type and you're telling me they've adapted (evolved??) in ONE week?? I hadn't even considered fighting one until today after the patch when I was invited to a random wing to fight them. We had to bail after 5 minutes because 3 people were getting nowhere. Please tell me this wasn't intentional or I'm still asleep and haven't woke up yet. This is like a bad dream.

Such angst over such a minor issue. Come on guys - grow up. It is a game - nothing more. We are all playing in the exact same environment - so be a grown-up and adapt without whinging and get on with it.

Not even a minor issue.

Intended. (Apparently)

Just goes to show how eager some people are to whine and moan at every opportunity. Even imagined ones.

Basically you are correct.. I think the anger is more about the 'being shafted' than anything else.

What we're seeing now is FDev imposing their story their way. And us, the playerbase have to go along with it.

Well except this one. they can do whatever they want with their ladybird story. I won't be reading it :D

People are failing to look at this situation from a development perspective.

No matter how much internal testing is done, having players actually use new items in a live build will always eclipse it in productivity and data collection. After introducing the anti Thargoid weaponry they found that they were more effective than they intended them to be, so they were re-balanced. Does that not make sense to you? Is that not logical? It's a whole lot better than letting it go on with unintended results. Yes there will be some players throwing tantrums about it, but they were never supposed to be that good in the first place.

The Thargoids still need to be devastating, you need to be hesitant to engage one. The whole premise of their return is supposed to be concerning and difficult to retaliate against, what's the point if they're just new balanced targets to shoot at?

IT IS TWENTY TIMES HARDER TO KILL THEM NOW. TWENTY.
