Nope you cant fly reverse :p What you are talking about is adjusting your speed. Its not the same like flying in normal space.

Even your throttle only works halfway. Just look at it the moment you hit the middle you will see that you have reached minimum speed, you can thottle down all you want you will not go reverse :p

I DIDN'T SAY that you could go in reverse... I said, if you read my post.... that. YOU CAN USE REVERSE THRUST... Which I've been doing since the first open Beta.
Meaning, you can deter your approach by a few seconds enough to not have to overshoot and orbit around.

An update, I Just got wasted by a station because they said I was a criminal. I didn't do anything illegal that I know of. Seems kind of sketch. I did accidentally run into a station, would that be criminally offensive? I also got pulled out of cruise by some a**holes and boosted away, but I didn't engage them. Strange. Guess I'll have to flap my newb wings a bit longer before I understand this game.

yup, scraping the paintwork on a station would be deemed an infringement!
hell, you'll get warning/fine/wasted if you loiter over another landing pad or block the station entrance!

getting "interdicted" is part of the game mechanics: it reduces monotony of cruising to destination, adds element of risk/adventure, and makes you sweat like a vicar in a brothel when you have a hold containing much of your capital invested in cargo and have no shields!

- likelihood can be reduced by cruising off the most direct route between start and destination
- it can also be avoided by keeping the escape vector target in your sights and the blue bar on the left fills up
- I'm using joystick with yaw control (twist the stick) and this is really helpful in following the escape vector - I can avoid most interdictions except when the escape vector suddenly jumps off screen.

I've never been shot at, or even fined, for scraping a station.

It's more likely to be loitering in the tunnel, loitering over a pad, stolen/illegal cargo or a wanted status. The scan comes from authority ships, and that'll turn the station hostile if they find something they don't like.

Sythrix, did you scoop anything you found floating in space? That would be flagged as stolen. You can check in your cargo panel, it'll have a little note if it's stolen.

No, didn't scoop anything. Loitering over a pad sounds likely though, as sometimes I lose where I am in the station and fumble around a bit. But I struck a station HARD, I didn't think I'd ever stop spinning. I looked it up and it is indeed a criminal offence.
