Greetings.

I put this down as a record. I've just gotten back to Cottenot here in Giryampi, and it's still fresh in my mind. I would like to think it's a record based upon a solid foundation of evidence that I've gathered on my travels. Barring that, at least it will show a chain of events that have stretched back from the 3100s to now. In short, it's a query into the status of a company named Azimuth Biochemicals, or its subsequent corporations from the year 3111 to now. However, in order to understand the reasoning behind this question, some background is needed. Dataclusters on these topics is included within this missive.

First, I'll cover Professor Carver. Here's my notes from last year, when Azimuth's megaship Adamastor arrived in Chukchan.

-----

On the thirteenth of October in 3111, a survey team lead by Professor Penelope Carver on contract from the Azimuth Biochemicals corporation finds what is believed to be barnacle clusters, meta alloys, and at least one thargoid sensor at Musca Dark Region PJ-P B6-1 (planet 3). At this time, barnacles, meta alloys, and thargoid sensors are all unknown entities, as is their reaction to our current technology and the damaging effects they cause. As a result, both people and technology begin to suffer problems as a result of the sensor's effects.

On the 26th of October in 3111, the megaship Adamastor based out of Chukchan signs off via private license and under the command of Azimuth Biochemicals, files a flightplan and casts off, heading towards Bernard's Loop. On the 29th, it reaches a listening post at Synuefe XE-y C17-7 (planet 3), and is redirected to the Coalsack Nebula. It appears that this is the direct result of the survey team and their reports on both finding the thargoid sensor, and their subsequent problems with it. As a consequence, Azimuth ordered the the team to radio silence, and sent the megaship to the location. Records of that time indicate the ship included specialized reinfoced cargo racks, as well as military personnel, whose mission is unknown, but could be suspected to be used to silence any potential witnesses.

After the arrival of the megaship Adamastor, it is believed but not confirmed that at least half of the survey team was either left behind on the surface, or elimited, and the remainder taken aboard the megaship, along with the unspecified object. In addition, at least some of the military personel was left behind as well, which seems to suggest that they were to enforce a 'clean sweep' policy of the location. While this was occuring however, it is made clear that at least one thargoid came to visit the barnacle site near the outpost, and 'fed' or otherwise accessed the site, causing some of the personell in the area to be drawn up into the thargoid itself, leaving a lone survivor behind.

Some time later, aboard the Adamastor, subsequent malfunctions due to thargoid sensor interference results in the hyperdrive failing multiple times. One such malfunction of the hyperdrive also disrupts the security systems of the vessel's Sidewinder ships, allowing Professor Carver and company to attempt to highjack one of them, and escape. Unfortunatly, it seems that only Carver was able to make it to the ship and escape before the hyperdrive was re-engaged, forcing her to abandon her fellow colleagues and attempt to escape, only for her sidewinder to subsequently crash in the HIP 69200 system (planet 1 B).

At some point after this disruption of the hyperdrive and security systems, the ship is either deemed or rendered uninhabitable by the crew, and is abandoned using all escape pods and secondary vessels aboard the ship. The ship, now abandoned and on auto-pilot, returns to its home system of Chukchan two hundred years later.

Now, all that sounds well and good, but remember this: The thargoid war occured between 3125 and 3151. All this occured over a decade BEFORE the war. Which brings up the question of what the hell was Azimuth doing then? Why was the Adamastor so well kitted out, with reinforced equipment to handle the thargoid components? What did they know, when did they know it? What were they doin' headin' for Bernard's Loop? Where did they first learn about the thargoids? Did they know of other sites, and if so where are they? Oh and remember this: at some point in history between then and now, another company named Pharmasapien supposedly absorbed Azimuth, but both of them appeared to have since dissolved.

Next up, I'd like to point your attention to this data-cluster regarding the information on the Valasques Medical Research Centre, out in LP 389-95, on planet 7. Here's the access code, courtesy of Canonn's Research: https://canonn.science/codex/velasquez-medical-research-centre/

Now this is speculation on my part here, but it sounds like the bigwigs that Kiona Li speaks about could be people from Azimuth. But hey, that's my speculation only. Reading through it all, it sounds like perhaps the resources that were given to Li and her team were supplied by Azimuth. By this time, the Adamastor event is already in the record books, though the megaship may have already been lost.

Now, you have a bit of the basics from history. Step forward two hundred years, and we've got Commander Hyford and his crashed Type 10 in Colonia. Now this bit of news is recent, because the ship logs and such were set to reveal information on the 26th of August, in 3307. This one leads us on a merry little chase from Colonia, back to the bubble, and then eventually to HIP 22460.

Oddly enough, HIP 22460 had a permit lock put on it just as a megaship, known as the Overlook entered the system. Here's the data-cluster access for it: https://canonn.science/codex/overlook/

Additionally, there's another outpost here, called Fort Asch. Here is its data-cluster access: https://canonn.science/codex/fort-asch/

Read through the log copies. Specifically, look at the fifth and final log by Professor Kaley Orenn.
The last line reads: "I’ll be at Azimuth headquarters for a full debrief within forty-eight hours."

Maybe I'm crazy, but does anyone else read that as Azimuth bein' still alive and kickin'? If they're still a player on the board, then I'd like to ask them a few questions. That said, I don't have the resources some of you lot most likely do.
