Hi everyone, I'm back after a break. I don't know what changed, but the old 75% throttle at 7 seconds to a planet trick to a smooth approach doesn't seem to work anymore. What gives? I've done so many loops of shame here in 3.0 already...

Stations as well, not just planets
For planets, cut to 50% throttle at about 5Mm.
75% still works for stations, but you have to listen carefully to the tone of the engine and reduce throttle quickly if you hear it rise. When coming in to a gas giant with multiple moons, you'll often bleed speed more quickly and slow down to 9 seconds. in those instances, increase throttle momentarily to get you back to 6 seconds.
