Yesterday I returned home from the DWE trip, which I thoroughly enjoyed & again would like to thank Erimus, Dr Kaii & everyone else involved in an epic & momentous journey.
Back at my 'Home Base' system, I swapped my trusty & battered Asp for my Python & began to sell my scanned data across as many systems as I could - to increase my rep with minor & major factions. Im not into dumping everything in CGs, so although a little 'risky' with all that data on board, it was how i wanted to do it.
Good News!
The trip netted me just over 280mil credits, which was more than I'd been expecting to get, from how I Explore.
YEAH! - i know the pewpew kiddies will make this in a hour by blowing things up - but as I'v said many times - I don't do pewpew!
Bad News!
The selling of such a large core of data is REALLY REALLY AWFUL! & needs some urgent re-design.
Yes, I know when I first started, I could only sell 1 system at a time. This improved to selling a page of 20 systems & recently then to 50 systems per page.
However, the current method doesn't tell you how many pages of data you start off with & how many more are left to sell - WHY NOT? - surely this should be simple to incorporate into the system.
Not knowing how much data you've actually still got left can be a bit frustrating after the first 100mil's worth is sold.
Then there is the order in which the data is listed. It seems to me that all the data is just randomly shuffled before the list is generated.
I noticed that one system 51k LYs from Sol was next to another only 5k LYs from Sol.
Can the data list be generated in - order scanned or alphabetically or distance from Sol, or even a system search - Something better than a random shuffle.
Some players prefer to sell everything at once, but others like myself may want to 'Cherry Pick' which systems to sell first.
It's an improvement to what it was...but it's still a long way off being ideal.
All data has finally been sold now, so I can finally relax, chill & wait for 2.1 to hit, before going out on the Crab Nebula Expedition next month.
Still a great trip to Beagle Point though!
