Background Simulation Bug

Impact on game: Background Simulation doesn't properly update my progress
Version Found:2.3.1
Frequency: Constant
Time and date of issue: since July 3, 2017
GamerTag: TrailBlazer 143
Location: 18 Scorpii
Ship: Anaconda
Description: Me and my wingman QUEEN0FHEARTSXO have been completing missions/trading/turning in bounty vouchers for the Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii for almost a month now. The BGS reacted properly by showing us that we made progress in INFLUENCE for the Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii with 2points to INFLUENCE per "TICK" without any problems. But ever since a civil war broke out between the Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii and the Traditional Party Of 18 Scorpii, for past 4-5 days, The Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii's INFLUENCE doesn't stop plummeting. No matter how many missions Me and QUEEN0FHEARTSXO do, missions or combat actions doesn't seem to impact The Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii's INFLUENCE at all. On July 7, 2017 we actually tallied our progress to make sure. 20 large INFLUENCE CIVIL WAR Massacre and CIVIL WAR Planetary Scan Jobs and 21 medium INFLUENCE CIVILWAR Salvage and Source and Return missions and we continue to plummet in INFLUENCE. And on top of that, I've personally handed in a little under a million in bounty vouchers. Me and QUEEN0FHEARTSXO want to take over the Traditional Party Of 18 Scorpii's space stations (BOLGER GATEWAY, ALVAREZ DE PINEDA CITY, FADLAN RING) and their land settlements (DASHIELL LANDING). But at the same time we don't want our INFLUENCE to drop so low that it will take us months to catch up with the controlling faction 18 Scorpii LTD
Steps to reproduce:
*Do bulk trade/delivery/assassinations with Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii
*Put the Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii into a Boom State
*Have the Traditional Party Of 18 Scorpii recently experience economic boom
*Have the Boom for the Revolutionary Party Of 18 Scorpii interrupted with Civil War with the Traditional Party Of 18 Scorpii 20% INFLUENCE for both

- generally: current general understanding is that no missions have any effect during war/ civil war. all just flavour text afaik. join the discussion here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/193064-A-Guide-to-Minor-Factions-and-the-Background-Sim

- if you hand in 1 mio in bounty vouchers in 1 redeem, it counts nearby as much as handing in a 10 000 CR bounty. it's much more about the number of redeems, than the value. what does the the bounty hunter report gives as a number of bounty reddems in system?

- what does the traffic report say? maybe other players back the other side in your local war?

Uh...

That really doesn't make any since. Missions don't mean anything but the vouchers do or is it ONLY bounty vouchers?
So what's the point of Massacre Missions? Ignore them all together even though doing them gives me Combat Bonds?
So basiclly even though I'm in a CIVIL war I should go to another system and kill 1 million dollars worth of bounty vouchers and sell it to my station? Because there is NO WAY I can get 1 million credits in my current system in one day
I really don't understand that aspect.

I do, however, know that a community goal was by my system so pilots working against me does make since but the faction we're at Civil War with is going down as fast as we are, so what the hell?

1. it's bounties and bonds. again: it is not about value (1 mio), but number of redeems - how often you hand in. if you want to game it, you fly to a conflctzone, pick side, shoot 1 eagle, fly to station, hand in bonds, and repeat as often as you can

2. if both factions loose influence, that means people are running missions for all other factions - most probably randomly. again: what's the traffic report saying?

3. join the thread linked above - nothing here reads like a bug to me. that said, a bug is always possible, but what you share about the system in question is a known effect of the mechanics during war/civil war. if you share your situation in the thread, many players will come up with helpfull tips.

Alright. That doesn't make since from a "Immersive War" Perspective but I understand what you mean. I just wish there was something to tell me these things in detail so I won't waste my time not getting influence or thinking there's a bug in the game. It's just poor design and poor game explaination and Flavor Text so I guess I should be use to it by now. Me and my partner have killed HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS of ships thinking We were War Gods but since we ran about 10 of those missions together, I guess we only killed 10 ships... oh well, better to know now then lose the Civil War. Thanks a bunch. What exactly is MIO?

What exactly is MIO?

MIO = million. as you were refeering to cashing in millions in bonds.

most info can be found or get by asking in this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/193064-A-Guide-to-Minor-Factions-and-the-Background-Sim

- that said, the BGS is meant as background and blackbox to some extend, which is why you can find many mechanics by testing (for exampel: here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/357715-BGS-Trading-for-Influence ), but you'll find rarely official statements by the devs ... better get used to it if you intend to play the BGS longer!
