Background stars missing after a jump

I've noticed that after jumping into system that there will only be sparse stars in the background. If I exit the game and reload, there will be tons of stars that weren't visible. This is most noticeable near the center of the galaxy where stars are very dense.

Any ideas what causes this problem? Any work around?

Simple answer - light pollution from the star you have jumped in next to. Don't forget that the star tends to have a faint 'atmosphere' of plasma around it and when you jump in you are near or within this corona, which is also where you can refuel if you have a fuel scoop. This faint trace of gas is the 'atmosphere' that is glowing slightly due to the heat, and thus causing less stars to be seen.

The 'work around' is simply to accelerate away from the star and within 20 to 30 seconds your 'game eyes' will adjust as you exit this glowing corona and there you go! Many more stars are now visible! This is of course not really a 'work around', it is simply the game working correctly according to known optical effects!
