Bacon Cats!

I do wonder how the average player - those who do not visit the forum - get their heads around all this. It confuses me, that's for sure!

To be honest, if I hadn't found this forum and all the useful intel it provides (from time to time) I probably wouldn't have given the BGS a second glance. In fact, I'd probably have stayed in Solo and treated the entire game as single-player. I have no doubt that there *are* some players out there who like to take in-game mechanisms apart to see how they tick, but I would suspect that most just play the game and don't worry about what's going on in the background.

Where do you find the transmissions, again another one I have never done.

Congratz, wish it had the old counter, would love to know how many hours I have played since PB1.

He was not amused to be moved so I could play spaceman.

ETA another homeless one, I think he got dumped in the park near us, he came in the catflap, had something to eat & drink, got hissed at a few times then wandered into the bedroom, got comfy on the bed and said "yeah this will work", and as they say the rest is history. Those overlord invaders lol.

You have done a very good thing. That cat obviously saw you as a trustworthy entity. Hope the pecking order battle goes well.
Kudos, repped.

Things could be better in Priva, but they could also be a lot worse. Right now the Bacon Cats are in a state of Civil Unrest, with no evidence to suggest this is likely to end soon. We also have a state of Civil War pending (again), so there may be an opportunity for combat bonds in the near future.

The current influence levels are as follows:

41.7% : Priva Industry
31.0% : BCATS
15.5% : Priva Empire Group
08.6% : Priva Partners (in Civil War)
02.3% : Values Party of Priva (in Civil War)
01.0% : Cartel of Priva

There are plenty of missions cropping up on the Bulletin Board for those who want them:

  • Low Influence missions include Salvage, Assassination and Charity*
  • Medium Influence missions include Mercenary Work
  • High Influence missions include Piracy

I would advise taking the higher influence missions if you can, though I realise this may sometimes mean making moral sacrifices. Failing that, Mercenary Work would appear to be the next best option. Where possible I would advise against the charity option right now as this apparently increases the Civil Unrest state. However, salvage missions to collect rebel transmissions reduce Civil Unrest, so if you see any of those and feel comfortable doing the silent running thing to get back into the station I would strongly urge you to consider picking those up.

That's all for tonight's situation report. Fly safe Commanders, and keep up the good work. o7

Edited to add:

Also, tonight I reached my 400th hour in-game according to Steam. Woot.

Congrats and that you for your most excellent report.

Derp!

Hi, it's me again (you're all going to get fed up with me posting on here soon, I just know it).

Could I ask that anyone who's an active member of the Bacon Cats or an active member of one of our affiliated groups (i.e. Drunks of Sol, Unsold Forks, etc) please send me a PM and/or a friend request so I know who's who?

Also, how would you all feel about the creation of a BCATS dedicated site of some description? Nothing fancy - just a place we can use for keeping track of the ups and downs of the BCATS. If this is something you all think would be useful I'll look into setting something up, perhaps on Wordpress (unless anyone has a better suggestion).

Thanks in advance.

Unsold Forks are of course a purely spiritual force - but we are with you! <doffs sombrero>

Hats? Yes, hats are very important - and sadly lacking in-game!

Oooh, if (when) they do introduce hats I wanna fedora. And a brown leather jacket. And a bullwhip. And a young Harrison Ford to drape said accoutrements on...

And I'm going to stop there before this becomes too NSFW...

Drunks of Sol would love to send a PM, but one of our junior members pawned the PM button for a case of Carlsberg Tramp Juice :(

Gah, you guys really need to pay more attention to what you're doing. How do you expect to achieve anything in this 'verse if you keep acting the way you are?

*rolls eyes and walks away*

No idea, because my own forum(s) reading indicates that people are mostly best-guessing things, even the Mercs of Mikunn, who seem to have gone the furthest in testing stuff. I continue to poke about with half-formed theories; if I can get better/firmer evidence of them I will post them.

Whips? Miss Moss? Good grief! <wanders away, singing a Velvet Underground song>

was it this, perhaps?

The myriad choices of his fate
Set themselves out upon a plate
For him to choose
What had he to lose
Not a ghost bloodied country
All covered with sleep
Where the black angel did weep
Not an old city street in the east
Gone to choose
