Hey Mouse,

Have the Bcats given up on Priva/BGS? I'll be back in the bubble tomorrow and could spend some time helping out if you guys are still trying.

Mouse, I was going to ask ALD PP folks about Priva, but didn't because I'm not even a BCat :). I was going to ask them about PP/cc impacts so you don't end up wasting time taking control of Priva, only to find out the entire ALD base is mad at you now because it messed up their PP stats.

Below is what I was going to say/ask. I think someone from BCats should ask though, so if you want to post over in the PP section for ALD, go ahead and edit/copy/paste the question. I already changed a bunch of the pronouns, but you get the gist of what the question is.

Priva is a control system of yours. The controlling faction is Empire and I believe Patronage (description says "benefits from Patraeus...patronage...". Another group in the system is Bacon Cats, which are Independent/Broker.

As far as I can see, if we try to regain control of our home system, it doesn't impact ALD bonus, etc. BUT, I think the cc calculations depend on the controlling factions gov type. So with us being 'broker', would that mess up your CC?

Basically, we are interested in regaining control of our home system now that FD has decoupled direct impacts of PP actions to the BGS, but not so much interested in fighting the entire ALD support base. I doubt we will bother if taking back our system results in messing up ALD cc and causes ALD to try working against us. Know what I mean?

The other option, I guess, is to ask FD to change the gov type from 'broker' to something beneficial to ALD, OR, change home system so we don't have to fight PP folks.

From a reddit post I have seen ... https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteLavigny/comments/3y7bvl/announcing_general_list_of_scrap_targets/ they are trying to get Priva out of ALD influence as it is a minor system and a drain on her resources.. the only reason for any power to have it is because of it's location along the border.

And no the BCats haven't given up on Priva, but I admit... I have no idea how many Bacon Cats are left. We started as a fun group kinda joking around on here to release steam from aggravations on other threads and through the efforts of the Baconactrix morphed into an actual minor power. We are traders, but there was never an official roster that I know of of who was who. If you wanted to be a Bacon Cat you could be as long as you understood it wasn't a combat group, but traders.. much like the Hutton Truckers. We were going strong ingame before BGS screwed us.. and lately, while I have seen offers of support which I am thankful for, I have not seem many posts by those who identify as Bacon Cats. I may be the only official one left..

Will continue the fight, but wonder if we can even get a planetary outpost and hold it.

Let me look into this. PP can't screw you anymore as FD removed it's impacts to the BGS. You just have to watch out for ticking off a group that then tries to work the BGS against you.

While I'm doing that, let me say it is somewhat amusing that the last guy in a faction called "Bacon Cats", is actually a guy called Mouse. :D

edit*: Incidentally, you most certainly can get the system back. I flipped a system with 19M pop by myself. It took 3-4 weeks, but if at least the two of us tried, it should take a lot less time.

Hey Mouse. I still consider myself a Bcat... A bit lapsed perhaps, but will try and come over and help when I can. Out exploring at the moment though.

I will consider myself a Bacon Cat, in order to help you get your main system back. After that, who knows...

I will ask on the ALD reddit, which seems to be the place to ask, about Priva.

As I said, we don't want ALD folks to work against us, so I'd rather they know what we're trying to do, and get their agreement before hand. Hopefully, it won't impact their PP cc that much, and we can operate freely.

If they are really against it, I don't know how much you can do. It would probably take the Bacon Cat founder (Julissa?) to email FD and ask they be changed to Independent/Patronage. That way, when we retake Priva, it will not impact ALD PP at all. I just don't know how fast FD would do that...they don't have a track record of 'fast' for making player group additions/changes.

Please note...I'm not trying to take over the Bacon Cats or tell anyone what to do. I'm just trying to help you get your main system back after PP screwed you out of it. Plus, I like cats, and bacon tastes good!

Ok Bacon Cats. The reply in reddit came fast. For those that don't like reddit, basically, they said:

System controlling minor factions (allegiance and government type) have no impact on their 'cc', which describes how costly or profitable the control system and its exploited systems are for them each week.

System controlling minor factions (allegiance and government type) DO impact their weekly fortification cost, i.e. how much effort they have to expend to keep the system. In Priva's case, a Bacon Cat takeover would make their cost higher (expend more effort to keep)...BUT they don't want Priva. So, it actually works out that a Bacon Cat takeover would help them...they would lose the system easier, and since they want to lose the system, that's good for them.

Hopefully, while not making sense, it is understandable. It also means we're good to go on taking back Priva, and don't need to worry about ticking off ALD folks.

I am going in game to assess what where to start. I will post back later.

Ok folks, here we go:

Overall, we want to take ground/space stations as we work our way up the list to finally take the controlling faction’s station.

The first thing we want to do is take a ground station from the Value Parties of Priva.

They are Democracy, and we are Cooperative, so evening our influence will probably cause an election.

To raise our influence:
- run missions for Bacon Cats only. It doesn’t matter which station you get them from, as long as they are for the Bacon Cats.
- do not run missions INTO Priva from other systems unless the mission text says you're delivering to Bacon Cats.
- kill sys auth if that's your thing and you don't mind being wanted in Priva.
- If you bounty hunt, do NOT kill Bacon Cat ships, even if they are wanted. Do not turn in bounties paid by Value Parties of Priva or Priva Empire Group. Please hold them until we retake the system. If you turn in Fed/Alliance/Empire bounties, turn them in at a system OTHER than Priva.
- Do not trade in/out of Priva. We have no stations at this time.
- Do not turn in exploration data in Priva. We have no stations at this time.

Geeze, what kind of group did I sign up with?!?!?

Among my missions done, 2 smuggling narcotics, 1 smuggling slaves, and one to transport HUMAN REMAINS?!?!? Yecht!

At least the second narc smuggling mission paid out 1.2M...

yeah the missions being offered are ..    .. type.. narcotics I feel are smuggling medicine into areas where they want to control the population by withholding it.. slaves.. you are not smuggling slaves.. you are the space version of underground railroad ^,^

Every now and then I do pop in, but with little to say (as I don't really enjoy the game in it's over-emphasis on being constantly combat-ready state) I don't have all that much reason to post. The eyes are there, always expecting more cat pictures!

And some good news finally... Bcats are up to 8% and there were donate missions today. Current goal is trying to wrest control of Aitken Point away from Values Party of Priva. Good Starting point near Dugan Dock
