Congrats, is there anything above Baron in the Empire? I'm personally siding with the Federation, but I may check out the Empire later on.
Just keep doing stuff for them, eventually new rank progression missions will show up. (I have the suspicion at higher ranks there is a cooldown period until the next higher mission is allowed to spawn.)

As for Empire (in whole) I'm just Neutral, but Friendly and Allied with multiple Empire sub-factions (Allied 1st with Patron's Principles, which seems be one of the major ones at Summerland).

Hmm, maybe a week or two - doing other things (e.g. exploration) too - not strictly trying to rank up, it "just happened" at side of all my activities.
Cool, i want to add a Clipper to my fleet which means i need to start doing the rank missions.
Whats a good Empire system to visit to pickup rank missions when you are starting out ranking up (i am Allied with the Empire which should help)

About to buy an Anaconda to replace the T9 for trading which i will use to bankroll another Python (sold my Python to buy the T9 so i could speed up the grind to the Conda)

May I inquire about how many systems you are allied/friendly with? I myself am but a lowly Lord who is still stuck on "neutral" reputation, despite vigorous attempts at friendly diplomatic relations with numerous systems.

Allied with two, a handful of friendlies - for exact number would need to visit places to check - the reputation tab in game shows info of just the place one is right at the moment.
