Presumably this is some kind of Fermat's Last Theorem situation wherein CMDRs Bazmeson and Thrust from Bradford have authored an insightful treatise into the deficiencies of the game and laid out a roadmap for addressing them. Sadly the essay will not fit in a single forum post.

Losing Bazmeson and his "friend" (wink, wink) will be a devastating blow to FD and the community as a whole. He played Elite since way back when.
His profile indicates that was way back in March. A true veteran with a rich forum history of 3 posts. We can't afford to lose long timers like this. FD MUST do something to prevent it. (Caps lock shows the importance).
Ballads will be sung in his memory. We'll never forget.

Maybe because it's just a game? It's not about caring for another human being. It's about laughing at the delusions of adequacy when someone thinks they're so important as to announce their departure from a game. Has anyone even heard of this person? Anyone?

I have it on good authority that Frontier have taken this to David Braben and he is urgently seeking an audience with the Queen of England in order to fix Bazmesons issues in the most generous time set out by the OP.
To loose someone with such insightful and poetical feedback put together in 4 posts over 3 months so clearly outline the issues and how to fix them is something they cannot afford under any circumstances, this isn't even mentioning the money they spent on purchasing the game and micro-transactions.

@OP: took you guys 4 years? I realised in 8 months the incompetency of ED developments* and their inability to add in any new gameplay loops and epoch busting slow development time to add in partially conceived idea's that don't fit in well with the game engine and online components, so hah! Tho' hanging around the forums like an ineffectual ghost is pretty sad too, so...
