Been away for awhile now getting stuttering

OK i have not played in awhile and after seeing all the hype i thought i will give thius game another go and WOW all i can say is STUTTER!
i99900k 2080ti 32 GB RAM was ok before so whats happened? i been searching for a fix and see loads of posts about a VR headset which is funny mine is plugged in but i dont use it.

Any help please or the game is being put to bed again.

OK i have no idea what how it just fixed its self but i was pressing my macro key that captures last 3 minutes of game play to show the stutter and it wasnt working so i window key out to make sure Razer Synapse was running which it was but i then closed the ELITE launcher by mistake, i went back in game and just pressed left mouse button any where on screen to start playing and the stutter has just gone! been playing for 30 minutes no problems 250 FPS completly fine! weird i must say.

OK is this normal or is it my hardware as im paranoid now, I have got rid of the major stuttering but every now and then when im going in and out of FSD/Hyper drive it may stutter, also it may stutter while fighting and multiple ships are around, Its even statuttered when i have just gone and scanned another ship, it never stutters when going in a space station which you would think its more likely to happen then.

Like i said this never used to happened when i played like a year ago, please can some one confirm its the game and not me?

I have monitored my temps and my CPU didnt ever go above 45 and my GPU highest it was at was 68 also my GPU VRAM was never above 46%
When i dont get the stutter its running amazing normal open areas over 300+ FPS more congested areas getting 190+

Please let it be the game i dont want to fork out replacing hardware.

Ok just been playing for a few hours, not a single stutter and all i did was turn off ambient occlustion, I have never had to do this last time i played so this setting must be doing some thing wrong.

I just logged in today after not playing for a while, installed the update and now it's stuttering and it hasn't done that since way back in the early release days. I'll try turning off ambient occlusion.

Another thing i have noticed and tested, I do still some times get the stutter going in and out of FSD not often just some times, If i close the game launcher once in game so window key select the ELITE launcher and close it then return back to game you get zero stutters! How could a launcher make it stutter?

One thing I found, (and I should have checked that first rather than after fiddling with every single other gfx setting since I always, ALWAYS turn that one off, but my brain farted that day), was that turning vsync off fixed all stuttering instantly and I could turn all settings back to near ultra on my ancient potato of a computer.

Could you post your graphic settings? Did you exclude the game directory from your AV?

I'm curious about this, I don't have issues in game but my shadowplay instant replays are mostly low fps for some reason and it all started the update when mamba was introduced. Game runs normal, obs recordings are fine, shadowplay works excellent in all other games, but in elite 4/5 times shadowplay instant replays are very low fps/stuttering.

I couldn't find any solution online, whatever solves this for you might solve my issue as well.

My graphic settings is default what the game gave me which is ULTRA but i turned off ambiant occlustion my self, I dont have a AV apart from windows defender and malwarebytes premium, I dont use my PC for any thing but gaming.

Funny you say this i can not get mine to work full stop! i press my macro key that i have set up to record last 2 minutes and it dont do any thing, only game to be like this so i just gave up and left it.
