Before I send in a support ticket...this ship name isn't actually censorship-worthy, right?

It's a Cadillac. A car model that was made up until 2005 (and may be coming back). We had one (a more recent version) when I was a kid in the 80s.

So...Anyone here know something I don't know? Did Coupe or Deville get appropriated by neo-'s when I wasn't looking? Or is FDev trippin? (and no wise-cracks about Cadillacs!)

Wow. Gutamaya. Please so much this with a cockpit and thrusters...

If your name is censored the "offending letters" will be replaced by *s (my Asp "Shrödingers cat" got censored for mysterious reasons...)

That makes so much sense to me. Your ship's name is there and is not there at the same time (and, if it's there, it's missing a "c").

Probably a foreign language translation error. Like the Ford Pinto in Brazil I think it was?

Anyway, time for a joke:

No! The machines are taking over! Turn it off! Turn it all off! Ahhhh!

But not before we make sure to keep the good looking female ones safe first.....

It seems that you forgot to include the joke?

Another storm in tea cup... OK, the auto-censor algorithm isn't great, but it does have to try and contend with multiple languages, probably not restricted to formal translations, so inlcuding local slang, colloquialisms, etc. I read coupe deville and envision an over-rated early 20th century juggernaught. But meh, give it a different name - is it really that big a deal to you?

It's never going to be perfect, but then neither would human oversight - which I do think is sometimes needed given some of the things I've seen for 'clever' intentionally offensive names in other games. Here's one I saw recently on a combat FAS that didn't get censored, but made me double take: "Jew Killer". Yes, I know it's both a historic and more recent pop culture reference... does it need questioning?

Yeah the censorship widget is wonky. I have a ship that probably should be censored, but then I had a ship that was censored that was nowhere near what should be censored. I had to change its name.. It was named Serpent Trafficker (Smuggling Python)

It's probably triggered because the word trafficker contains "ficker", vulgar German language.

Yet my Python Freighter, named after demi-famous actor Haywood Jablomi is just fine.
Likewise, my Fer de Lance, named for one half the comedy duet, Barry McCokkinner (and his partner Lotta McCokkinner) is just fine too.
And have you seen my Dolphin Explorer? Dee Snutz? Yep, just fine and hanging in there too.

Nerf the censorship. Let people submit reports if someone names their newbie blasting Warvette the "**u" or something equally as juvenile.
