I have one Nile Lechwe. I saw a video that my next step should be to build a barrier. There should be 3 or 4 icons on the top left. I only have the calendar and inspector icon. I need to get to the information page on the specs of my barrier. hight, water etc... I'm starting in sandbox mode.

That's weird you should have all the 4 icons on the top left, maybe try restarting the game as the interface might be glitched. You find zoopedia information either with this icon, in the zoo management menu under the animals tab where a zoopedia icon next to the animal is present or even the planet zoo wiki website which has the same zoopedia information.
