I would really like to be some use to my squadron.
They're all off doing the Thargoid-fighty thing, or whatever it is proper players are doing at the moment, and I certainly can't be any use to them in that respect.
In previous games where I've been in similar situations I've been able to contribute in other ways. In Everquest I could harvest crafting materials from around the world. In Guild Wars 2 I could do likewise. In EVE I could make money and chuck it into the corp account, or manufacture ordnance, or survey systems.
But here in ED there's very little I can do if I'm not actually going out there and fighting alongside them. Which I could certainly do, but I'd be destroyed instantly and it wouldn't be any fun for me or help for them.
Because I'm incredibly boring, and because I've not long since cleared my save so lost my previous stocks, I've been quite enjoying trundling around systems and planets gathering materials for engineering and synthesis, but unlike in EQ I have no means of sharing surplus materials with my squadron. Nor can I contribute money to a central account.
I'd really like it if ED could at some stage include something along these lines, which would allow non-gregarious, non-combatant players like me to make a positive contribution to our groups.
