Beluga cost on live server

The Orca and new Beluga still have little to offer over just fitting out another large ship. The only thing that differentiates them, the luxury cabins, are mostly an expensive waste of space. You hardly see passengers needing luxury cabins and when you do they don't really pay that much more than any of the other passenger types. You can still get economy passenger missions that pay over a million just for a shuttle run to a nearby system.

The other problem is that luxury passengers also often require loads of cabin space. Given that a class 5 luxury cabin only has 4 slots, you're far better off using business class cabins instead that have more slots and whose passenger pay just as much. I've seen a few luxury passenger missions that required over 20 slots. That's pretty much an entire beluga fitted with nothing but luxury cabins, just for one passenger mission. The jump range on the Beluga and Orca is terrible, meaning you won't be using them for long range tourist missions. You're better off buying a Type 7 and fitting that out as a passenger ship, far cheaper for a similar payload.

The Orca does have good speed and manoeuvrability going for it though. Oh and they both look the part and the cockpits/bridges are lovely. Just a shame that they don't have much going for them still. The passenger missions were supposed to make them come into their own, but you're still better off using something else for them. Either a cheaper large hauler such as the Type 7 or something more specialised for the high paying long range missions or the more covert passenger types.
