Another point to keep in mind is that it's likely that game performance has not yet been optimized. At the moment the devs are focused on implementing game features, chasing down bugs, and balancing game play. As we get closer to Gama they should begin optimizing the games performance so what ever level of detail/performance your currently seeing with your set up may improve the closer we get to release.

OMG it's like playing a completely different game. On this new PC (now it's built and everything is installed) I can run everything set to high in ED, and apart from the odd stutter when going past some ring planets, it runs great. Not only that, playing on a 39" screen ( where as before I was on a laptop) is freaking awesome !

Congrats on the Upgrade Commander. I too know the pain of being Disabled and not being able to work. i'm really glad to hear your pleased with your setup.
