I "Upgraded" from the X-52 to the X-55. The quality and durability of the x-52 far exceeds the X-55. My X-55 had faults out of the box with Hats sticking and buttons not working. I decided to fix it myself and it has work well since then. The Hats on the stick are terribly designed internally relying solely on tiny micro switches for the spring action. As a result the one I use the most for power distribution and menus etc has failed. Eventually the spring within the micro switch give up. I fixed this again by swapping it over with one of the other hats I don't use at all. But I am sure it will eventually fail too so I am sourcing spares and working out how to help it by adding a rubber grommet to restrict the hat movement so it does not totally crush the micro switch.
Having said that though, the layout of the hats on the Throttle on the X-55 is just beautiful. I tried the warthog but I did not like the fact that the switches are not momentary and although they are authentic replica of the aircraft controller I prefer the more generic layout on the X-55 and abundant toggle switches, controls and hats on the X-55 throttle. Just wish the quality was as good as the X-52. I had that for so many years without issues, where as the X55 only 6 months and its needing some TLC. Its an absolute shame.
