Best place for Federation rank?

Hi all,
Im back playing Elite again, were is the best (fastest) place to rank up for the feds.
Opinions welcome [smile]
Thankyou

Oh man, boy did you miss the train. Between 3.0 and 3.0.3 there was an issue with Data Delivery Missions awarding too much rank. We were able to max out Empire and Federation ranks from 0 to 100% in a couple hours. Fixed now. Sorry man.

Go to youtube and search for CMDR Plater's video on Federation ranks. I think the system was Gang Yun. He'll have more details. It'll take you longer than it did last week, but the system probably is still a good one.

Just go to Sol. Around Earth you have four stations that makes it easy to load up with data courier missions to nearby systems. There are several with only one station that makes stacking them from the mission board easy and delivery straightforward.

There's loads of places to rank up. All you need is a couple of systems that are close to each other with fed aligned factions. Then simply run the delivery missions between them for rep rewards and repeat.

Don't know about Federation rank, but with the Imperial rank it's slightly slower now but still pretty fast in a good system

Any Federation system. Sol is nice, every faction there is Federation.
Achenar for the Empire, and who cares about the Alliance, they don't have any ranks.

Sothis and Ceos. I took an alt there and went from "None" to Rear Admiral over last weekend. Still had time to swap out alts and the 2nd one went from "None" to Post Commander. And they say it was nerfed?

Just take the Fed faction's data missions to the same station each way. 20 per trip. You'll be there in no time.

Yes i seen Platers and it has some parts where you scan installations as well as delivering data packages. Thats fine but i just want data packages and one jump and no installations even though will take abit longer than scanning etc.

Im far away from Sol not been for years lol....is there multi stack return and one jump?

Or go bang it out at Ceos/Sothis before that goes the way of the dodo as well..
Whats the score here then, one jump etc, return

I'd suggest going to Tun. Good system for Fed Ranking

As above, which is the laziest out of all of these? Thanks guys

I have tried some of the above with my primary commander. With my second account I went to Ceos/Sothis as I am lazy and it is easy to jump between the two outposts skipping the Newholm Station in Sothis completely. For empire Ngalinn/Mainani is a good pair.

I don't remember how far away from each other they are, but it's one or two jumps. The thing about Ceos and Sothis stations is that they are pretty far out in the middle of nowhere by themselves, and since stations tend to generate missions that take you to nearby systems they generate lots of missions just going between themselves. So the idea is to just stack up all the delivery missions one station gives that send you to the other. Rinse and repeat.

It won't be that way for long, though. Frontier are adding more stations that way at some point in the future, and when that happens these stations will be no more efficient than any other random set of stations inside the bubble.

I found a sweet Federation ranking deal between the systems of Chime and Vasing...Vasing has 2 medium pad outposts and Chime has 1 medium pad outpost...Chime currently has a state of None and Vasing is in a Boom state...Chime's outpost is at approximately 260,000 ls and Vasing's outpost's are at approximately 70,000 ls...I know most pilots will groan at the distance, but go run Hutton a couple of times and this will seem like a cake walk...Concentrate on data missions from Vasing to Chime (do not even worry about the planet bases in Vasing)...You can load up on them from Chime to Vasing but it takes too long (only an outpost in Chime)...My advice is to eat the return run from Chime to Vasing and just load up in Vasing...Once you are allied with everyone, you can get data runs between 100,000 to 800,000 a pop...I was making 10 to 15 million on each trip to Chime...You can concentrate on just the Federation factions to rank up faster, but I just grabbed everything 500,000 and up and made tons of money...I made it to Admiral in 72 hours and had money to A grade my Corvette as well...I ran this with an Alliance Chieftain but a super fast Cobra or Viper will do the job...You will get interdicted occasionally but once you hit 20C, ain't nobody gonna catch ya till the end run and a loop of shame will grav lock and mess up most followers...Watch out for the Deadly and Dangerous FDL's...They are fast killers for the uninitiated...Best to boost away or just not get interdicted in the first place...I pass this on to all future Admiral's because I am already there...And congrats to all the future Mostly Harmless, Novice and Competent Corvette owners...This game is most fun in a cool ship and combat know how just comes with time...I will gladly grab your six if I see you being griefed...Have Fun and Happy Halloween!!!
