Going by tv shows/movies themes with spaceships as a central "character".

"blue danube" waltz theme in "2001", part major inspiration for the Elite franchise, carried over today in our docking computer's music,
"mail slot", orangey-yellow hud targeting + landing graphics, etc.

one of the earliest on tv (cartoon):
perhaps one of the biggest movie music composition efforts primarily devoted to the return of a beloved starship:

tv shows of the early 00's. One where the AI and ship was a literal interacting character:

I love them both. :D

I love all three.

Of course Hawkwind, but not just "Silver Machine" There's music for majestically swooping through the valleys of moons... "Chronoglide Skyway"

I mostly listen to OSTs from sci-fi games and movies while playing ED. Spotify has loads of those, like Deus Ex or Tron Legacy. Other than that, I like minimal electronic/wave/lo-fi stuff.

Explorers should give a listen to the earthview videos from BR Space Night, a night program from a german TV channel that's been running since the mid-90s.
