Best System to call home?

I've been stationed in Elysia at the Tavares Port. It's got Raw, Encoded, and Manufactured traders with in a couple of jumps.
Nice bounty hunting, it's a High Tech system not far from Brestla or Diaguandri.
But its small, and ugly.
I've been playing since release and now we have the new look to the planets and what not, but my home system is still ugly and boring.
Any CMDRs out there got a system that's git all this AND is nice to look at or am I just being petty and demanding?

I'm boring like most and just call Shinrarta Dezhra (founders world) home because of the easy outfitting and rather central (to the bubble) location.

That requires you to have been a founder or be at least 1 x Elite though.

On a couple of my other accounts where I'm not Elite, I usually call an LYR system home for the same outfitting reason.

Also, for non-Elite commanders who want convenient outfitting, Sola Prospect on planet Brestla A 1 carries all ships and all modules!

First I chose Qa'Wakana, mostly because Carpini Terminal is inside the rings of an ELW, and it's Fed. Near the starter systems, and bounty hunting is good.
Then I chose LHS 142, mostly because the view from Noriega Port is one of the best in the galaxy, and it's Fed.
Thereafter I was based at NLTT 21440, mostly because Delbruck Gateway and Gooch Gateway each orbit one of a binary pair of ELWs, close to the main star. Very good stations for missions, and they're Fed.

You have to find a home yourself. Get a fast scout ship, and spend a few weeks scouting.

My current home is Vonarburg Co-Operative in the Wyrd system. Been there a while so I am fully allied with 6 of the factions, which makes the missions more worthwhile. But the thing that caught my attention is how nice the station is, not dark and gloomy but quite bright, colourful and no cranes or anything to collide with. Definitely worth checking out the station if you are in the neighbourhood just for the pleasing visuals.

I don't have a home system. I have ships from here to Colonia. Though I do all my ship and module purchasing from Shinrarta and I do store some ships there as well, but that's about it. Think that's the one the majority of people use just for that fact...

I’m fond of Darwin Research Laboratory out in the California Nebula.
Or I was until a PMF was inserted there.

George Lucas in Leesti has been home for extended periods.

Mahon Base was cool for an extended stay too.

But the most important thing that makes a station a HOME is friendly hollow squares.

So at Hamilton Gateway I know our people, and they’re pleased to see me.

And Dublin Citadel in Gateway is full of my Alliance comrades, so it feels like coming home there too.

So I guess “HOME” for me is wherever the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps are busy and active.
Ross 128 during the liberation. Dunyach Enterprises. The Old Worlds. Lave.

Wherever its Alliance green.

My home is BL1PVILLE - BL1PTONIA - ELW - XPX-4589-PxTO - Andromeda (NGC 224)

Im staying in SOL atm visiting your Galaxy, It seems acceptable.

Here's how I found a system I like.

Go to inara.cz

Go to cmdr's log section.

Scroll down to set your location (if you have done this you can skip it).

Now pull up your home system and select one of the stations.

Near the bottom of the entry there is a section "search for other services nearby", click the the technology broker link and it will bring up a list of systems that have technology brokers. These are all high tech and look awesome on the inside of the stations. You can now either jump there and see if they have the bounty hunting/trading you like or use eddb and pull up the system under systems sections and search for it there.

Many of these are control systems and have wings based out of the so you may other players and wing up.

Hope this helps.

For me, the most important reasons for my choice of a home were:
- Main station is close to to the jump-in point. Self-explanatory, I think. ;)
- An interstellar factor to be present. I think, this is the second bigest one. Really everything else is a rare necessity. Material traders are great and I do visit them. But not all the time. Bounty hunting is what I do quite often, but there are nice spots all over the place, only one jump away from almost all systems. The factor though, I visit every time I come home in order to cash-in all the little bounties I gathered all over the place.
- System close enough to Shinrarta Dezhra. "Close enough" being 4 jumps with an average ship. This is close enough for me to travel there conveniently, but distant enough for my home system being out of focus of griefers.

I whish, it had better trade opportunities though.
And the system is dull, dull, dull! Oh so boring! That's really a thing that might make me move.

I'm split between Shinrarta and SOL to house ships. Shinrarta, as has been mentioned already, is easy, central and discounted on ships and modules, so it makes a nice location for many reasons.

Most of my ships are parked at Kirk Ring in LFT 1103.
Lots of stuff one jump around, all mats traders and tech brokers etc. Some engineers nearby.

Five of my ships are parked at Colonia Dream in Ratraii, very central in Colonia, good outfitting.

Both starports are close to the star, which I like.

If you want "nice to look at" then the nebula systems are best, in my opinion.

Bigmaec's recommendation of Ratraii is I think about the best you could do in that sense:
- variety of RES with good view of Colonia Nebula
- contains manufactured trader, raw and encoded traders nearby [1]
- ring-embedded outpost
- best outfitting in the region [2], second and third best one jump away
- various specials such as installations, megaships, tip-off sites, etc.
- many other nice sights in neighbouring systems

[1] If you want something to spend the materials on, set up your remote blueprints before setting off.
[2] Which in practice means "mostly B/C rated" - this is probably the 'compromise too far' for you, given your requirements list. But it has been gradually improving over time.

Shinrarta Dezra here too.
HAs basically everything and it's a short distance from anywhere in the bubble.

Diaguandri Ray Gateway. Every ship and module available gets 15% discount. Plus they have nice stock to and you have tech broker and encoded material trader. Its my home system for a year now.
