Lovely stuff! :)

My favourite place in the Galaxy is above the galactic core.

Awesome.
Planetary landing should be a visual wonderment when implemented.
Hopefully we will also be able to land on water.
Love the way details on the surface become more apparent as you closed in on this one.
Is it proof of FD future implementation of planetary landings? I hope so.

With the TrackIR lean-in, you can keep 3/4 of the high-res screenshot, with only little bits of brown lines in the corner.
Warning, large file, 5760x3240.
Edit: If you want to get really silly, use multiple monitors. With two, the high-res screenshot is 15360x4320.

Guys, this is absolutely jaw-dropping stuff.
Stunning, stunning images.
And this is in a game, not a Hubble catalogue.
It's scarcely believable.
Amazing.
Wow.

I love threads like these! I am brand new to the Elite series but not new to the space sim genre. I am in love with this game! Here are a few screenshots I have made while trying not to blow myself up in various ways. I can't remember the name of the systems these pictures are from but they are all somewhat in the neighborhood of Sol.

And a look at the potential we may have when planetary landings are included. This is not from Elite.

If you couldn't tell. I love space sims. How I missed Elite over the years is beyond me.

If the Elite planetary landings look like an improved Space engine then I'll be more than happy!

Maud

If you like rocks, enjoy this view I got back in beta 2

Nothing like being able to play Elite: Dangerous on Ultra everything! Good luck flying in this otherwise without frame drops.

I don't think that Elite will look quite as nice as Space Engine. Elite however is actually meant to be played. It is very immersive and there is a ton of stuff to do. You really feel like you could be a space explorer. Space Engine is awesome, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't come close to feeling like a game vs just a computer program. Anyway, keep the awesome screenshots coming!
