Best VR Headset for ED?

Well I think we can agree that it's very subjective. I just went from a CV1 rift to an Odyssey + (coz the rift died after maybe 3 years, prob the ribbon cable) the build quality of the Odyssey is not as good as the rift, the controllers are not as nice and they burn through AA batteries. The tracking is not as good but it's fine for ED coz you are sitting down not jumping around playing beat saber. The graphics are a little better as the resolution is on par with an Index (less the sub pixel thing) with no SDE at least for me. The blacks are good coz it's OLED which is a big deal for ED. I have not tried an index but I suspect that it's a better product all round. Various versions of Pimax are high on the list too. Thing is I am finding it hard to justify spending a $grand and maybe more than twice that if I upgrade my 1080 to a 2080 to max out the new HMD, when it's a 1.5 upgrade and the Odyssey + cost $300. I am saving my $ for VR 2.0

Not that I am going to drop 6k euros but just out of idle curiosity, is anyone actually using the XTAL for ED? Is it supported? Does it even work? What's the GPU setup and what res, fps and FOV are you running?

It might have been said, but the HMD cannot really be separated from the PC driving it. For me, the Rift S is the best headset for ED, because of:

1) Cost - I got mine for $350 USD.
2) Simplicity - Two cables plug into my laptop, no separate cameras or anything like that.
3) Impedance Matching - That's an engineering way of saying that the image my Rift S can display is close to the best my PC can output.
