Ooops, sorry stupid mistake. What I mean is large fixed pulse + large gimballed pulse. So I guess it is 3D fixed pulse + 3E gimballed pulse.
After months of experimentation I tend to switch between a c3g beam + c3g pulse combo or a daul c3g burst setup. faster then pulse either way and cap and heat are easily managed.
I use 2 x C3 fixe pulse lasers:
- fixe because they make more damage than gimbal and use slightly less energy;
- pulse because they draw less energy from the capacitor than beam lasers.
You may want to try beam lasers, but your weapon capacitor is gonna take a serious hit.

Maybe its just a feeling, but I always had the impression that beams melt shields much quicker than pulses, but pulses do more damage to hull...
Pulses are relatively more effective against hulls.
