Best way to destroy an active limpet?

Hi all,

Apart from jumping into supercruise, is there a way I can destroy one of my collector limpets?

Reason: I dropped into an HGE and fired 2 limpets.
When I reached the maximum for a material, the other limpet obviously and stupidly just sits there under my ship, next to the cargo scoop with the no longer wanted material in its claw.

It'd be great if we could send an discard command to the limpet, but alas...the only other method I can think of is to detroy the second limpet somehow and fire a new one to continue grabbing the other materials.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

You can run into something, or you can use an ECM.

ECM will destroy the limpet?

I'm thinking maybe if I turn off the controller from the RHS panel, that may do the trick, but then I'd lose both limpets (it'd be a shame to punish one little guy because the other guy is too stupid to release the material and go gather something else).

Had anyone tried adding the material to the ignore/block-list? (Left hand panel, under contacts IIRC) I'm guessing the ignore-list won't get a limpet to drop a material it already has, but it's something to try

I always thought it'd be nice if we could use the Contacts panel of our Nav HUD to abandon limpets in a similar way to how we can enable/disable seizmic charges when DC mining.

Only trouble is, the Contacts panel doesn't (IIRC) currently provide any information about which limpet is carrying what so you'd have to guess which one you want to abandon.

If you had a. SLF you could go out in that and try to shoot it by targeting the cargo to pick the right limpet.

Yes. I did this the instant I got the "FULL" message. However, by then one of the limpets had already collectedone more and was on it's way back to ship.
