Beta 1.5 - SC judder sorted?

An emphatic 'NO' from me. Still as bad as 1.4.

In 1.5 super cruise through Shinrata Dezhra in Open drops frame rates down to what feels like single figures for me.

I just got a GTC 980 TI OC version installed and the game is amazingly smooth all over with DK2. 3D is perfect, but for me too the problems come when SC:ing closer to a planet/station. Glad to hear 1.5 is working better and the issue is addressed.

Edit: The issue is with headtracking in SC. After a 20sec or so, the judder begins when moving your head, usually when heading for station. Otherwise everything is A ok.

AMD User on Win10 here(Sig for details) - SC judder still there in 1.5.3.

Its less on a wddm1.0 driver like 14.12. Lets hope for Crimson AMD drivers next week.

I think if you'd check your frame rate you'd see that it's dropping to around 50 or so. VR needs a steady 75. So you're probably always getting it in SC but it's just more noticeable when you move your head.

That's a good point. I installed Riva Tuner to check that out. Otherwise the game looks great with 1.5 SS and full oculus quality slider.

For me, yes. I cant believe it. Newest nv driver, sdk 0.5, single GTX 980 oc, oculus slider at max, settings mostly medium. Rift set up as single main monitor in extended.

Perfectly smooth now, even around planets. Thanks FD, keep it that way. :)

Checked it out for the first time now, SC stutter is completely gone in 1.5 for me (single GTX 980).
Still 1.5 beta is much worse for me because they introduced a subtle swaying of the view at the end of a yawing or pitching motion that makes me nauseous. Never felt so bad after playing 1hr of ED in the Rift.

For those of you who are getting no judder in SC....

Is it just in systems with limited/no NPCs around?
Is it just in systems with no live players?

I originally thought it was cured too but then I went to Xelabara (before I realized you can't do a CG in beta, lol) and the frames grinded to a halt as usual.

I've not got 1.5 beta but had really bad sc stutter for weeks in 1.4 frame rate dropped through the floor as most people's did then 1.5 beta released and my judder in sc went away completely in 1.4 which I found weird but not complaining

I don't know about everybody else, but I STILL have SC judder after few seconds(when moving my head). Is this problem REALLY gone with 1.5?
I am using nvidia latest drivers GTX970, extended mode. runtime 0.6.0.1
ED had an update few days ago and the launcher window has changed, but I don't see any difference in-game whatsoever (including the curved menus that people are talking about) so I'm not sure what version ED I'm running. How can I know?

Sounds like your still on 1.4 with me unless you have beta access you won't see the curved screens till horizon is launched with 1.5

Oh I see Thanks.
NO I don't have beta acces so I must be on 1.4 still then. What I don't understand is although there was definitely some kind of update along with the new launcher couple days ago (since i noticed my sweetfx files were undone), I wonder what the update was for?

Apart from the launcher update there was not game update to my knowledge first change to gameplay comes on release day. Unless you brought beta for horizons then it will be Monday ROLL on Monday lol

Rolled back my AMD drivers to 15.6 beta and the SC judder is sorted completely even in well populated systems during a CG in open. I'm convinced it's down to the drivers more than ever. This 290x is a good card especially for the price but next time I am buying Nvidia. Been an AMD guy for years but no longer.

SC stutter is gone for me in 1.5 completely unless I fuel scoop oddly. With 1.4 it was all the time so something has changed. It concerns me that this improvement has been unintentional by FD which makes me think they don't have 100% grip on the code and how the countless areas interact with/affect each other. That is not a criticism as it is quite normal for massively complex software of this nature but it is something that needs to be kept an eye on if not assigned to a developer to concentrate on diagnosing.
