Yeah, I am creeping up on 50%.

It's late over there. Y'all should just cancel your downloads and go to bed.

I wouldnt rush, Ive only managed around 4 minutes of gameplay..... now its just giving me server authentication error message every time i load the game!

Looks like the servers cant handle the load :(

Well got in for twenty minutes but lag forced me to exit now I can't get into single player or anything.
Guess the servers are getting violated like the new girl at an all womens prison.

A word to the wise.......you might want to watch that kind of talk. The PC crowd are well in evidence here, and you will be butchered.

Oh my word. About 50% downloaded, grinning like an idiot reading sexy patch notes, good times.

And then there's the shiny new Rift DK2 I just got, sitting there being all futuristic. Have only tested the demo scene to make sure it works (it does, wonderfully!), really hoping it works well with beta as I want Elite: Dangerous to be my first proper VR experience. Might get a bucket just in case.

Frontier may have not implemented official support for the new SDK. If that's the case you can get your DK2 to work by doing the following:

Download the runtime and (optional) SDK
Set up the Rift by following the instructions provided in the Instruction Manual

Make sure you update the firmware.
Test using the small room demo and / or oculus world using direct mode.
If they work, calibrate your IPD and tracking zone using the config app and small room. I find putting the camera on the back wall and moving the desk forward allows for more wiggle room.
If everything is cool, switch to extended mode inside the config app. For the moment keep the monitor set to primary.
Not sure about AMD, but for NVIDIA cards you will need to change the orientation of the screen, so that it appears the correct way round. This can be done in the NVIDIA control panel. Whilst you are in there, create a 3d settings profile for ED and set antialiasing and triple buffering to on.
Lastly in the NVIDIA control panel, set the Rift refresh rate to 75 hz.
Ok now open up the oculus config file again and hit Ctrl , Alt and Del. in task manager, close wscrip.exe and ovservice.exe in processes.
If its NOT Elite Dangerous you are wanting to play at this point, you will need to set the rift now as the primary monitor. If its Elite Dangerous you want, just open the game.
In options / graphics make sure the refresh rate is set to 75 hz and v sync is on. Switch to oculus mode and set display to secondary monitor.
Once in game, lean back in your chair and hit F12 to reset the rift and avoid clipping. If you are still not happy, move your desk away from the wall and reset again. (Assuming you have the camera mounted in the wall behind the desk.)
Done

*If you are getting a message saying oculus service not available, go to your oculus folder and open the inside the services folderovrservice_x86 or x64. Then open the config.exe inside the tools folder.

If it was a joke about male prisoners a man they'd laugh.
So fie a pox upon their hypocrisy.

On a related topic. The servers still seem down.

Can’t get into online games, so I did the solo mission I already completed in alpha. WOAH, a lot of visual improvements! Can’t wait to get in!

Few other interesting things. New Eagle cost just 12,240 credits and there's missions available on the bulletin board. Can't seem to connect to the outfitting section though, so I can't give any other prices.

Sounds right - sidewinder value now taken into account when trading in.

We haven't integrated the new SDK yet.

now been in hyperspace for 5 minutes. if I'm not the first person to the centre of the galaxy I want to know why not.

Stuck in hyperspace too, had a disappearing station on arrival in game, so selected I-Bootis, spooled up the drive, jumped....15 minutes later still in hyperspace.

Just aswell it takes fuel off at the start of the jump:rolleyes:
