Upgraded to 2.02, got a good start button and managed to clear the saved game. Hit the Solo option but hung on spinny sidewinder with music. ctrl-alt-del out and back in, got a red start button this time and can't ping the server. It also hangs after hitting the Quit button again. Guess it's too many people all trying the same thing and overloading the server. I'm giving up for tonight, but thanks for all your work guys.

Oooh, something's a-stirring !

I'm past the locked opening screen now......unconnected with Start still in red, but there seems to be some progress :) Could be that every commander in the universe, and his dog, is trying to fire up the engines at the same time though :)

Patience guys, let's give it a chance :)

I got into the menu now without it freezing on me. Still can't do anything else but Tutorials, START button is red.

I noticed something though.
The line above "Beta 2.02" that displays the connected server changes from time to time.
It either says "Server xxx:xxx [unconnected]" or something like "Client is too new".
Problems with the loadbalancing?

It crashed after a while. Might be that it only freezes when trying to connect to certain servers.

Anyways, I'm giving up for today. Good luck.

Ok i played whole 10 minutes then server error again during random encounter with single eagle fighter. From that moment i can't get into thr game again. In menu shows "unconnected" or "client is too new". Was playing "Open World" game.

Thats it for me, going to sleep. Tommorow early work awaits for me.

I have the same issue. 20:20 BST I started 2.0 and saw it updating. Then read about upcoming 2.0.2. Played tutorial and quit later. What I noticed it was already upgraded to 2.0.2. 2.0 no issue, 2.0.1 server was down for upgrading, 2.0.2 ""Can't connect to edServer: Your client is too new". Hope this helps.

Yeah all that thanking from work without even seeing what happened :p

And yeah, so far it didn't fix anything noticable, because playing it is still impossible.

Right now I am connected to the Server, then I Chose start, and open Play, got the loading Screen and then the disconnected error back to main menu.

There now I am stuck with Server: xxx but no unconnected but my start button stays red out.

It is nice that so many things get fixed, we cannot see, but it would be aweseome if the start/connect Problems would get fixed as well, so we can actually see the cool stuff :p

Still not quite there! B2.02

Just upgraded after the servers whre dropped for 2.02, but ...

Hi, was going to raise a ticket on game crash, but it's been noted already. Can't hyperspace to I-Bootis, it crashes just before exiting.

Also, Please lose the pre-flight check once in game proper. Ok for tutorial, but I know where all the controls are thank you.

Well I was able to play for about 20 mins before getting disconnected again... and now once again cannot connect at all. Also, playing at 2560x1440, there are many areas where the graphics are APPALLING! My patience is running out... Beta 2 was stupidly late and the atrocious state it was (and continues to be) in means it has been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster. Requiring 2 updates in less than 24 hours after finally being unleashed upon the unsuspecting testers and still both broken and inferior to Beta 1.06 in almost every way. I used to detest people who endlessly bashed the devs and the game... After today i'm starting to see exactly why they do.
