These days, there are so many iterations of CPUs, GPUs, operating systems, patch levels etc etc etc ... You just can't expect something to work for everyone, immediately.
I was able to play for 10 minutes now. Made 650 credit profit between Chango and Aulin Enterprise. Then the Bulletin Board wouldn't load. Waited 30 seconds. Then disconnected again.
I'm off. What I've seen has been great.
If you can explore the system in the super cruise training mission. It might calm you down if you are getting a bit antsy.

Cant because game fills my harddrive with spam log entries when menu loads.
The servers will be going down in about 10 minutes time to allow us to apply the update. Beta 2.02 should be available by 20:30 BST.
Once again, the team would like to thank everyone who waited so patiently for this update. The beta testing you do on E: D is incredibly important.
If there continue to be issues with the build, please keep in mind that this is the nature of beta tests. There are more updates to follow.
Here’s the change log for 2.02:
- Multithread crash in stellarforge fixed
- Make each of the disconnects from missions have their own unique reason
- Turn off date stamping of log files for beta 2.02
- Don't let overachieving AIs send cargo collect requests
- Fix flipping direction on supercruise entry
- If we get a call to disconnect from main game flow then write the reason into the network log file
- When entering new location expect the PrimaryServerLink may be in Disconnected state for a few frames, only give up if it stays that way for a few seconds; add more explicit logging if giving up here
- Fix for AI group duties crash
- Tone down star streaks - halved the number of star streaks and reduced their opacity
- Scratches on sidewinder cockpit are overpowering - reduced dirt intensity
- Fixing naming error that was stopping a medium hard point door from opening
- GUI fix for missing rating on modules
- Distance on purchasable data now displayed
- Fix for network MTU size mismatch
- Prevent crash from network stall and resulting replication errors
- Force requests closed on shut down
Enjoy Cmdrs
I deleted my netlog.log and after few minutes, the file's size was about 1giga!
Fine, but it's not a case of some isolated users with obscure driver issues causing them problems. It is a wide-scale problem with lack of connection to the servers - which is why the tutorials are still working (although the menu can and does still freeze once you complete the tutorial's task).
They have pushed out two hot fixes, addressing several issues. I didn't see much about server connectivity in the change log though.
I know this forum is largely populated by a very fair and patient set of folks, but I would bet good money that there is going to be a pretty hard-talking meeting at the Frontier offices once this is running well enough for them to take time for one ...
It's only a game, not anything affecting people's health or finances, so I'm not going to get bothered by it. But to pretend that it is not something of a shambles, and to criticise anyone who complains about it, is a bit much really.
But hey-ho. I expect I'll get all sorts of flaming for holding this view.
So I'll ignore it, and pop off for an early night with a book.
Sweet dreams all.
