ok changed my MTU to 1500 to no effect still instant crash on loading of the menu and huge log file generated

im on ADSL ISP is talktalk

please try looking at your router settings and try changing the MTU to 1500

Highest mine goes is 1492.

Still no change. Freeze on main menu.

Can't get connection to server. Tried and tried after downloadint 2.02 ... no luck so far. I get past the load but when I click solo ... no connect to server ... several times ... maybe its download traffic ........

So I'm off to destroy some tanks.

PS: Please don't dumb down Newtonian flight to where its like flying a Spitfire over the English Channel. I love the Spitfire, don't get me wrong but Aeronautical flight is much different from Astronautical flight.
I hate to refer to another game but Evochron Mercs got Newtonian flight right. Combat was fun but way different from flying in Earth's atmosphere. Pilots figured out new tactics to combat opponents flying backwards and "turreting".

Didn't get much time to play but in solo mode I managed to complete a mission and fly around a bit with no issues, so something is working some of the time.

And it looks really good. Can't wait to spend some more time with it

Mine is already set to 1500 and I get the frozen menu. I am connected to the router by homeplug though so that could be causing a related issue

Well sick of the sight of a spinning sidewinder, so I'm calling it for the night.

Shame as I had no issues in 2.0 save for the galaxy map. Did videos and everything.

Dunno what's happened but its weird to me that a lot are playing, and a lot aren't.

Nope, MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) is the max size of the data packets your router can send. Think of it as sending a parcel via a courier.. You can send one big parcel, or a few smaller ones, but they will both fit in the van for transport.

freeze on menu was fixed for me by changing MTU in router to 1500, not worked for everyone though

No I'm - they. Not cos of low bandwith - cos of "low" MTU.
I would say "not a full" MTU ))))) More then 50% users of Internet.

2.02 issue. As soon as I log in now I get past the Frontier logo's and to the main menu. I can see about two seconds after getting to the main the game freezes. I can move the mouse, i can hear the sound, but the game does not respond.
