Started downloading the update 2 mins before the official post, only got to 25% so far, bandwidth is not my issue. At least I'm in Australia and have the rest of the day to update and then play. Can't wait based on the patch notes, amazing list of changes.

I just got on for a bit and WOW, I am impressed. So cool to start out on one of those outposts. And LOADS more missions. I didn't run into any bugs, but I was only on for about a half hour because I got the comms message that the galaxy server was rebooting.
I hope to be able to play later.
It appears that I can't connect to the server now. I wonder how long rebooting takes?

Yup, full wipe for beta 2, except combat stats, as far I've seen, and I agree with it tbh: we are supposed to be testers, and with all the changes they have implemented in Beta 2 (I'm still amazed, gj FD!
), it's much better to test player game progression again from scratch eh? so that we can get the best and most balanced final release as possible!PS: I miss my Annie, couldn't fly her too much as yet, but it's much better like this for everybody!

Just short notice, I got my skybox fixed with fully reinstalling/redownloading game and updating Nvidia drivers.
Had a few crashes and start option is now red and I can't access the game proper at all so went into training mode (Travel) and there it is obvious the brightness or gamma is much too high which is causing the bright sky and simplistic looking planets etc.
It may something more complex but it seems we all have the same issue so unlikely to be drivers etc.
Or are some people getting good graphics and dark sky instead of the really bright washed out look like contrast and brightness are turned up?

Nothing. FD, you guys should have just stopped at quitting time and gone home as planned. All that hard work and half your players can not do jack.
No point in waiting around for a quick fix. At this rate most wont be able to play and test for a couple of weeks.
Will check back at launch I suppose. The last patch was a nightmare too. Launch is not looking so smooth.

Been playing beta 2 for a couple of hours in the Oculus DK2. It was already an amazing experience but this is something else. It's gone from fleeting moments of presence for me to full immersion. New menus are much better, zero stuttering even in stations, super smooth head tracking and it looks just beautiful. The text is even easier to read. Must sleep now though it's a bit late in the UK

I get a near freeze.
I can never get into open game or solo game. I can get the scenario's to load but basically my machine is pulled to a complete crawl. Everything stops for a couple of seconds then moves for a brief moment then stops again. Sound is stuttering.
My day off exploring is looking doomed. I'm switching to my 'B' machine and will see what happens there.

Yup that's all done... it went through the verification process again and now when I click the UPGRADE button it uninstalls the launcher!
