Beta release time?

I wouldn't change to SSD just for a game, the speed difference would be barely noticeable. Where you do notice SSD speed is with the time it takes Windows to boot up or heavy programs like PhotoShop to run. You wouldn't notice it in a game.

I run 32GB of DDR4 ram myself but I suspect it's overkill :) 6GB on a video card is more than plenty.

I thought 8GB of VRAM was plenty. Until I played FF XV.

SSD usage really depends on the game. Some games (like cities skylines), benefit a lot from initial loading time, to ingame streaming textures while playing.
But it may look like Planet Zoo will load everything from the start. And without a PZ's version of thememakers toolkit yet. So installing the game in an HDD should be fine for now.

Always leave your HDD and SSD 20% free.

How does one check how much room they have in their HDD and SSD storage areas?

also, one more thing, any advice on how to safely move save files into HDD?

That's going to be different for every game - you need to find out where each game stores these files and ensure that there is a place in the settings where you can change that or it won't be able to access the save file from the game after you move it. If you can change where save files are stored you just need to create a folder for each game on your HDD and be sure that the path matches what you put in the settings for the game - spelling and capitalization counts. Then just move the files from the SSD to the new folder you made on the HDD. Don't do this if you aren't comfortable with any of the above, I don't want to be responsible for messing up anyone's games!

The nice part about having save files on a different drive is that you can reinstall the game and not lose them :)

Beta is over for me before it even starts. A fire in the neighbourhood killed my internet connection one hour ago. No one knows when it's repaired. I can visit friends for internet but don't know if my Laptop will be good enough. I definitely won't be able to stream and start my new YouTube channel. The repairing could take weeks. I'm more devasted than I ever thought I could be.

This is really a pity :( I would take the PC to the neighbour, download the game and then switch Steam to offline mode. Then you can at least test the campaign at home. Maybe do a hotspot with your mobile phone to get a taste of the franchise mode. You can use the data volume completely, the month will end soon :)

It makes a difference on loading big parks in Planet Coaster, so probably similar for big zoos.

To make things easier, the Beta will start roughly 6 hours and 29 minutes from this post.

Ok, kwl. So it's currently 8:33 pm Tuesday 24/9/2019 NZT. So that would be in about between 3 to 3:30 am Wednesday 25/9/2019 NZT. Or if you live in Australia and NZ, it will come out 25/9/2019 instead of 24/9/2019 XD. No probs. Hey, they may decide to release it a bit early. I have a shared lunch tomorrow and an 8:30 am start. May stay up a bit or just set my alarm for 3 am. Oh, and good morning to you UK. I know the UK is roughly 12 hours behind NZT and Australia is roughly 2 hours behind NZT.

I have faith they'll release it 24/9/2019 NZT. Even if it means at 11:59 pm. They managed to do that with Planco. Otherwise I'm calling in sick tomorrow.... (jk)
