Beta Update 6

Now my park won't load and is not playable. Hopefully this will be fixed with tomorrows release.

I think I have read that you are the first person to have it broken from this update. Can I suggest making a post about it in the bugs section, post your DXDiag and your park to steam workshop with a link to it so they can check out to make sure the park is working and then see why your system may not be.

Overall as well Frontier, just want to say thank you for all the updates. I have literally seen no improvement in FPS since Alpha for my system, however it works and plays and am enjoying looking at it, although am sure you would have seen all my little rants and hopefully constructive criticism for the management aspects of the game. I probably won't play much once released until (hopefully) the management is really sorted to be an actual part of the game and not tacked on but it looks good so that's awesome :)
 
Texture streaming is a technique used in a lot of game engines to reduce resource usage. Put simply, it's loading and unloading textures based on when it does or doesn't need them. That's the cause (I'm assuming, anyway, based on evidence) of the random low resolution textures that happen in the game sometimes - something in the streaming system must be screwed up, and so this update is an attempt at fixing it.

Ok, so am I being really simple.... or... if I have a pile of rocks... and the base of those rocks can't be seen, but I need them to build more rocks on... its no longer loading the texture of the base rocks... just the ones that can be seen!? I may be way off the mark here but that's what this means in my head! Am I wrong!? [wacky]

Honestly, I couldn't tell you how it works in this case. Only the developers know exactly how it works internally. My assumption is that there was some flaw in its logic, and it was unloading things and going to low-resolution textures at the wrong times.
 
Interestingly, my audio seems to have sorted itself out (touch wood) with this update.

msebastiancbr - have you tried validating the Steam cache files via the properties box in Steam when right-clicking the game title?

I did what you said and it did not solve my issue. A lot of work went into this park and I was getting ready to blueprint it to the workshop. I hope all of my time and effort has not went down the toilet. As soon as my park reaches 8:51 pm it crashes. The game is saved at 8:47 pm so really 2-3 seconds after I load the park. I can pause and do whatever but at 8:51 pm the game crashes. This is an Alpha 3 park that I have been working on since day 1 when Alpha 3 was out. I guess if my issue is not solved tomorrow I will just start a new park with the game release.
 
To all those having issues, raise threads in the beta forums (whilst they're still there) and upload your parks/post your dxdiags etc . and give as much assistance as you can to the devs so they can identify and hopefully resolve any issues. More chance of it getting fixed than just hoping for the best (although in some cases that does actually work! )
 
Hi i am new and do not know how to make a thread post so i am replying to this. All my coasters are black whatever colour i cahnge them to and have white lines coming off sometimes. Does anyone know how to fix this?
