I was referring to the supposed difficulty level exploit in this instance. Though it's far from the only example I've seen, "This is the greatest ship/only ship you ever need" seems to be another common one, with none of the ships having that much in common.
In the game I don't see much increased rare drops and when it is on items I don't care for. Popping weapon crates would allow to make some observations on the drop chances in the weapoin category. I'm not in to weapon duping so much to "get the perfect roll". There is also the case of levelled drops, particularly for energy weapons, my main category in the current run. Seems better rifles than refined either dont drop yet - or not at all. I'm still only level 30 though. So far my observation is that you get better mileage from doing certain missions than roaming free in the world(s). Like e.g. unlocking Vanguard ship gear by doing the Vanguard Terrormorph chain. The shield alone is sick.
It's a bit like a frog. Same colors and a similar stance with four legs close together. How do you know it's a female? At least I couldn't tell. It has puzzled me a long time why some English speakers think their ships are females.
Here is my Taiyo Orca in a dark blue and light gray paint job. I think the dark blue fits well with the brass colored parts in the rear. There is a cannon attached to the right side of the front fuselage, which is not shown in these pictures.
I name my ships for women Cause I Like Women !! simple
... and ... and most of my ships crews (in various space games) are female ... so sorry.
Have a wonderful day
ps: plus its an old nautical thingy on planet earth ... I guess I could name my ships by city names or other famous ppl/leaders but, lady names are better.
pss: I like your ship
I'm actually thinking about your suggestion regarding chem durations, but I need to do a bit more research into it. A lof of the stuff is multi-nested in Starfield and I'm tredding carefully not to make the game OP (or change something I don't want to change as a side effect).

In general I suspect it's the standard Bethesda randomised loot tables.
That said I do see higher level drops in higher level systems. Denebola and Serpentis in particular being good sources of gear.
I still get the level 115 guys that drop a disassembler combat knife but most of my superior kit has come from these systems.
Still a step up from FO4 where the best gear was dropped by mongrels.
I didn't understand it for a long time too because the convention carried over from ships to cars (as in many men these days like to their cars as 'she' though I know females who refer to their car as 'he') etc..
Why did sailors give their ships feminine gender?
Well, there wouldn't have been any women on board. So it gave them a chance to recall the female, someone to look after them. Many had left their wives, mothers, daughters and live the possibility to potentially drown and be wrecked at sea without seeing their female relative ever again. Giving them a relationship to their closest at home would have had value - or as J G Frazer would have put it, possibly sympathetic magic.
Then there's the fact that the ship 'carries' the crew like a female carries their young.
It goes back, recorded, at least 1000 years though probably goes back much further than that.
Hear the rime of the ancient mariner
See his eye as he stops one of three
Mesmerizes one of the wedding guests
Stay here and listen to the nightmares of the sea
And the music plays on, as the bride passes by
Caught by his spell and the mariner tells his tale
If modders can do something, I'd rather developer efforts be focused elsewhere.
I've had DLSS3 working well in Starfield for two full months. I'm not sure more fundamental issues will ever be fixed. Game is out, reviews are done...gathering low-hanging fruit is probably all we'll get from the devs until the next DLC/expansion.
I just went in guns blazing (cos I don't have the invisibility power and can't find the fricken way without setting alarm to the whole Settled Systems. There was a comment but mission success anyway.
Most annoying mission for me was sneaking through the security test to break into whatsherface's office. I did it without any fancy gear or abilities devoted to stealth, without being spotted, only to realize there was an entrance on the roof that I could have used to drop me right into the office an hour sooner, with a whole lot less tedium.
That's because you don't need much of a ship to do everything. Even the terrible examples made by people who have no idea what they're doing work fine.

Rats! Just go past Red Rocket and past the next town. In the early outskirts of Boston I met Legendary RAT with Mr Legendary 10mm. You simply don't forget such moments.

A ship is the sailor's bride. You treat her well and she gives back in kind. You abuse her and she'll drag you down into the deepest abyss. It's also females in German. If we would name a boat or ship "Tiger" we'd say: (Ive christened) "die Tiger", although the animal is male: "der Tiger".
The game should not put human buildings in the same area with mysterious buildings that, according to the game's story, humans haven't yet found. Here are examples that make the game look a bit ridiculous. I took these pictures from my landing site. There was also a temple nearby, very well visible from my landing site, but I didn't get industrial buildings to the same picture with it. And the game tells me that I'm the first human to see the temples that I have found. For some reason, the Constellation members don't speak about the gravitational anomalies at all, and also I cannot say anything about them.

That's what I thought on my second run, too. Tried to remember the entry point but then you get this one way door. Can maybe glitch past but would need some decent boost packing, too.
I've played for about 90 hours so far and am simply bumbling around enjoying myself, doing what I feel. I've made it some way into the constellation main story, but feel no particular desire to rush to the 'end'/NG+.
Currently base building is causing enough head scratching (and cursing) to keep me mumbling darkly. Overall the closest 'match' for me seems to be NMS, I wish the spaceship experience was closer to ED. But it's not, and it's not even NMS-level 'enjoyable' for me.
And, oh gosh, the seemingly interminable loading screens........
