Is there any way to re-land at a place you've visited before and NOT appear outside the ship? I would actually like to see the landing animation too, even if it is technically just wasting time, but at the very least I'd like to be in the cockpit when I get there! It seems a bit crazy that I built a transfer crate at an outpost with the idea that I can just land there, transfer stuff to the ship, and then take off, but the enforced fast travelling means I'm always outside my ship standing next to the storage crates when I go there anyway, and then have to walk back to the ship...

There is some method to it I haven't fully figured out. My strongest hint is to "not quicktravel". Be in pilot seat when you plot route, jump to planet, then land at site.

Question - when you say bounty hunting, is this space ship combat, on foot combat, or both? I could see a version where you have to find someone in their ship, disable their ship, board their ship, and take them alive for the maximum payout. That would be pretty epic. Is this how it's done in Starfield?
Both. You can also disable ship and board. It doesn't pay more reward, but you can take the ship.

Yeah I always do that anyway. But only for completely new locations do I get the landing animation and finish in the cockpit. For any previously-visited locations I just get dumped outside my ship (sometimes with no spacesuit) with no animation.

The trick is to always wear your spacesuit...there's an option in the inventory to not show the helmet or suit (or both) in breathable areas or on the ship, saves those embarrassing choking to death moments when the game dumps you outside minus the landing animation :)

I mean yeah... that works, but still I'd prefer the game to NOT randomly dump me outside of my ship every time I land. I was hoping there was an actual solution to that, rather than workarounds to the consequences.

So, spoilerish stuff ahead

I just got to the end of the main storyline for the 2nd time, and this time decided to stick with the character and go for the New Game+. Last time I "beat" the game, I started a whole new character, so this is the first time I'm moving on this way.

My character was 37, and of course I had all my skills and the Starborn Guardian ship.

One of the starting missions of the story line has you trying to read some data from a satellite without the 3 Va'ruun ships nearby noticing. It's not difficult to avoid them and that's what I did last time.

This time, however, I attacked them in my shiny Starborn ship, blew up 2 of them, disabled the 3rd one and boarded it. I killed all the occupants and made it my new ship. (I'm much better at the game now, heh).

It's not a bad starting ship, at all! I can't modify the Starborn ship, so that's kinda boring. Also it has no bed. This ship, though, has many possibilities.

Now I'm off to find new adventures, with my new old character who is getting rather strong. I'm already finding new stuff to do that I still haven't touched. Not bad :)

My cool new "starting" ship:

Hmm... this is exactly how I felt after ED introduced the FSS. Fortunately, it's only dozens of locks in SF, rather than billions.

Can you find one for ED? Please? (It would be so nice to make ED my favourite game again.)
Yeah, no. Sorry. ED is not moddable and never will be.

So, when you are finished landing you're not sitting in your seat ?
( and have to get up to exit the ship (or walk around in your ship after you land) ?
I need to go look at some more videos.

That's never happened to me. I always stay in my seat and have to choose to leave the ship or just stand up.

Did a little test and going back to places I've been before will not show landing cutscene and I'll be standing in front of the ship. Going to new places I get the option to exit the ship and stand in front of it like with places I've been to, launch again or get out of the seat. I wonder if there is an option or something I'm missing.

Is that moddable? What happens when you join MP? It's not just the cheating stuff that is problematic in MP, it's also how mods proliferate and how some extravaganza states might utterly break a game of a completely non-participating player.
NMS has close to 2000 mods on Nexus right now. Also there's the "NMS Save Editor" which allows you to change everything, and for any of your saves - inventory, tech, ships, vehicles, weapons. Give yourself unlimited money, the best ships, all the tech, all inventory spaces unlocked then fill it with any item in the game. Pretty much everything is editable.

Ofc NMS isn't much of a multiplayer game. Sure you can run around and have fun with others, but not many players bother with PVP. But then again, many might say they play ED in a similar way. ;)

When you're revisiting places you've been before? I've never NOT seen it happen. I can't find any way to stop it happening.

More fun bugs - items of furniture completely disappearing in outposts. I really should have known better than to play a Bethesda game straight after release. I waited nearly a year before playing Skyrim for the first time and I probably should have done the same here.

You can shoot each other in NMS? I only played vanilla and tried the odd Nexus mission. Didn't occur to me there was PvP.

Neon ship technician is sticking to his deviant ways. Tau Gourmet mission saw me careless and I had a Terrormorph chase between the buildings and the mission switches. Fun. I did invest in stealth btw - just for the added damage multiplier...
If you ask me who is the most attractive companion I'd say it's Hadrian Sanon.
