Better player faction integration between outside and inside the game

I would support a more organic approach to Faction pledging not controlled by a Player, who is subject to human pressure of life, that can result in power vacuums, and power struggles.

As others have said suggested Allied or a high yet tier, limited to one Faction, that anyone can earn in game by their actions support a faction.

After all why should it fall to a player to hose who can get their Faction Emblem, if Cmdr Blogs who plays in solo, picks a faction they likes the name of, and adopts without ever knowing or contacting the Player group connected to that faction who wish to gate access to it.

I'd be quite chuffed if there were people who chose to support my faction not because they had met us, but because the faction Name, Super power (or independence), Government, and Blurb in the home system on the system map.

Well it would be kinda hard for them not to know its a player faction unless they just dont pay attention to the forums cause all player factions are required to have a description if its one they had put in game at least.

I'm not opposed to some of the ideas presented here. Being able to have your own decals, or even paint jobs would be nice. However I also see it as the thin edge of the wedge. Whilst I know you are not proposing player station and system control, there are many out there who want just that. I think the safer path is keep things as they are. You put in a a minor faction > it become just another NPC faction for you to work for, as an independent commander.

In my opinion in-game Factions should be just that, in-game. Allowing individual players to take control of parts of the game, at their own request, doesn't sit well with me at all. The in-game mechanisms for any and all players to support a chosen Faction are mostly there already and just need to be expanded upon a little.

Well if the fdevs are smart enough they could keep things how they are for the people who want to just pledge themself to the powerplay leaders and then add in a way to pledge yourself to a certain minor faction cause when you fly around you will see A.I. who are pledged to either a powerplay leader like the aisling guardians or shields of justice or pledged to a minor faction

But then it's not really a Player Minor Faction. I see no point to having things in the current state. FDEV said 'A', it's time for them to say 'B' now :)

I also know that Mike Brookes was keen on seeing more integration, as is Sandro. I hope we'll see some news on that as part of post-2.4 improvements.

Mod doing a necro on his own thread?

Heres a reason why I avoid groups...the keep insisting I use 3rd party tools to chat and communicate. I dont use any 3rd party out of game resources so naturally, Ive never joined a player group as a result. I would love to...but not if they insist on using out of game resources ^
