Beware White Dawrf and Neatron Stars

The neutron boost took the cutters range up to 121 LY. My aim before the incident was to then apply jumponium to it and see if that would then make it jump 250Ly. Since Beagle point is 45000LY from Colonia (give or take a few LY) I figured every bit of help with jump range is good :)

I was heading to Colonia in my Cutter doing the Neutron dance as well, and all was going fine. Then I get dropped out of HS right at the bottom of the cone. I'm yanked out of SC, and overheating before I could even react. I stayed calm, and started popping heat sinks waiting for the FSD to cool down. By the time my FSD was back online, my canopy was critical. 5000Lys out, so a canopy breach is certain death. Well, I figure I've got 2 AFMU, I'll fix the canopy, and be on my way. Total fail. The AFMU's barely make a dent, and by the time I figure that out, my FSD was damaged. So there I was with time almost froozen, and me bracing myself for the 24mil re-buy screen, and a rapid trip back to the bubble. So I did what any truly brave commander would do. I hit escape, logged out to main menu, and put in a ticket.

Well, then I saw that FD was backed up, and it was a 4 day wait. I decided that I was partially to blame. FD warned us they were dangerous, and I took the risk. Also, I wasn't going to wait 4 days. So, I logged back in, and went POP. I figure it also took a little of the work load off the poor Dev stuck saving all the other commanders.

So, now I'm only 2500Lys from Colonia, and it's all good. I have removed Neutron stars, and White Dwarfs from my filter.;)

Its a known bug so it is better to wait and let support fix it for you. You did exactly what I did however. I think I will leave those stars alone as well till they fix it. fly safe o7

I have mapped out parts of the neutron highway between colonia and the bubble. The orbit lines disappear on neutron stars.

The thing to do is 0 throttle on the jump and pay attention. Fly through the outer purply part. Notice how close you are when you jumped in and do not get closer than that.

Now, having said all that, there are a few bugs. Matchmaker disconnects put you out of SC into the neutron star wake. This is death. Log out and send in a ticket.

Warping into system directly into the wake is also not intended.

Thus it is suggested to just avoid these stars until this is fixed.

I was starting my own mapping project between Colonia and Beagle Point when this happened.
