Xbox One : Connection Error

Unfortunately, when playing in Online Mode on Xbox One, I am randomly getting a Connection Error: There was an error when connecting to Xbox Live.

It happens over and over after being connected for anywhere from 25 seconds to a few minutes at most.

Was really looking forward to playing today :(

Also, I canceled the update as it was going SO SLOW, and the entire game just disappeared from my Xbox One and was forced to reinstall the whole dang game!

the central buzzword of that talk (which is essentially a buzzword parade) is an amazon "auto scaling group" which literally means 'just ask for more juice', or that's what they're selling anyway.

the problems at release are probably operational. stuff lagging to spin up, misssing configs, stuff nobody thought of ...

I'm wondering if it's to do with the "first discovered by" issue mentioned. Possible they're restoring those and trying to fix whatever caused it.

I don't get it. You can scan and discover system and planets super far from yourself and from what I read you can even discover POI's by launching probes on planets..what's the point ? this is not exploration, you don't even need to actually go somewhere yourself.

So, I guess the actual release date is whenever the server's "Detected Issues" get fixed. Meanwhile, all systems statuses in game are "none" and the entire bubble is probably mapped by those whom choose to play the game even though it is OBVIOUSLY GLITCHED. It's ridiculous, I guess I'll check back in a week or so...... at which time I'll decide on rather I'm going to be playing very often. I know I'm not the only one that's because I'd been looking forward to it for a while.

Its normal, each time there is an update, the same thing is happening. We all probably know that the server is not able to sustain the heavy load. This is no usual traffic, and here come the disconnection problem and other stuff.

Maybe they could let us know that for the first day (and a week or so) we should expect problem with the overloaded server, but they don’t even if they probably know. For me, I was unable to play this afternoon (-5 UTC, Montreal) but this evening I was able to play without any interruptions.

I was ready for this, so I was not disappointed and I applaud everything they have done and what they do. Of course, FD is a business, but an honest one. There is no other game that I have played as much, for not so much money.

Well I thought I'd have a go at Exploration and using the new discovery scanner and FSS but have no idea what I'm doing now. Originally when scanning you saw all the planets on the middle console but now I have no idea when in FSS mode how to get to the planets it has found.

Some direction would be great

VERY impressed by his update. Thanks FD. DL went smooth on xbox, could not play afterwards due to connection error to the mission database, but I assume this is due to the servers running hot.

Just to say I'm not usually a white knight/fanboy ... had a few grumbles in the past for sure... but with this latest chapter, I haven't felt so pumped with playing ED since the very FIRST Beta Phase way back when. Congrats to ALL the Dev Guy's and Gals!! (I had drifted off and away from playing EDH recently but I'm back and reinvigorated for sure)

2nd that... I actually cannot remember when a free update has ever WOWed me in my entire gaming life quite like this. Amazing. Proper exploration game now. Sorry for all those having stability issues. Hang in there, 4 billion stars to go if your worried about THAT :)

I've installed the new version of the game Launcher and downloaded the game.
When I click on play I get this....
"The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem"

Any advice welcome! :(

Please! Someone explain me how to turn off this color grading, i am literally can't play the game because of this. :(

Looks like the visual c++ 2015 runtime was not properly installed, you can try uninstalling the launcher and reinstalling, or just install the runtime from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

You can explore exactly the same as the old way if you want. You can still honk, you can still fly up to planets to scan/discover them. You will get the same payouts as before. Nothing has been removed.

The probes are completely optional.
