turn supersampling down to 0.5 its only for the monitor window, then you can either turn hmd quality up or get more FPS hmd quality is basically supersampling for VR headset.
I don't believe this is true.

Looks like the "lack of 90 fps" may be due to changes in multiplayer code.
In my case if I go into solo -- I'm locked or nearly locked 90 fps in a hangar. Open play - 45 fps 100% of the time in / near hangar.. and even space is a bit iffy.
Now my CPU isn't the newest -- 2600K @ 4.6 GHz.. 980Ti OC. but I've dropped to VR Low which my 980Ti can easily handle, so I'm pretty sure what's going on is whatever additional code runs in open play vs. solo is causing our CPUs to not have enough time left to feed 90 fps to the GPU.
You can tell if you're CPU limited if your GPU utilization is something less than half (especially 40% or less) but you're getting 45 fps instead of 90 fps.
So having not been affected by this in the first update my system is now seeing severe fps drops now too, sometimes down to as low as 15fps in stations and outposts, today it seems to have been almost 100% of the time I enter a station or outpost at some point while using the station services my performance will just drop through the floor. Worse is that my system isn't even being taxed at all when it happens sometimes, other times it is. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it![]()
