BGS only in the open

Hello,

my problem is simple but important - we want to raise the possibility of doing something against enemy players but that can only succeed in the open game

First, Player Minor Factions should not be able to expand to other systems where Player Minor Faction exists - but if so, then the BGS must be in OPEN

We then want a chance to do something against the enemies

And now it' your part - do something!
 
Isn't it funny how lord Braben has Graced us with interdictors, hatch breakers, guns and shield generators? Its almost like it was intended for them to be used on these space shippy things.

Won't happen. It's a waste of discussion. It's been discussed so many times already, and we can discuss it and argue for and against, and it won't happen anyway. Power play had a chance to get into Open, but that probably will not happen either.

What would this bring?


What do you expect to do against "enemy" players?




  • How do you know a player is an "enemy" player?
  • What do you intend to do the the "enemy" player?
  • Not all players are supporting a player minor faction, they have already invested alot of time in an existing minor faction, how would you deal with this?
  • There is no cross play, so what would you do about players on the two other competing platforms? I mean, two of the active player groups around us are PS4 and Xbox, and here I play on PC.
  • Time zones, we have players from all around the world, so it is very unlikely that you would actually meet all players on your platform that travels through "your" system.
  • Network limitations that causes instancing problems where you might never be able to instance with certain players, based on network related issues outside of your control, Carrier grade NAT is one such thing.



And please elaborate how attacking other players should work in your favour. The only time this would actually be beneficial is in conflict zones, and this still requires ALOT of things to correlate to actually work. In most other cases, killing "enemy" players would in most cases hurt your faction more than stop the enemy, as you are the controlling faction and killing clean ships is a bad for your control...So enlighten us how this should work.

You can't have open only BGS, because everything everyone does effects the BGS.

So basically you're asking for the entire game to be open only, or so nothing anyone does, matters.
Neither is acceptable.

PowerPlay Open only, yes please. Bring that sucker back to life, FD. :)
