Owning a brand new and functional FAS, was one of my in-game dreams that came true. Putting in the time and effort to get one was worth it, and LFT 37's discount pricing helped me get there. This brings me to my next point, which is modules. Specifically, the class 5 Bi-Weave Shield Generator.
If I had to think of one word to overly describe this part, I would probably go for ineffectual. Believe me, I'm not saying this as a form of exaggeration since I always choose my wording, but in this particular case, it's totally justified.
So there I was, eradicating Pythons and FDLs in RES sites, making easy credits while having a sense of self assurance because apparently 3 fixed Beam lasers, a handful of SCB's and an adequate agility, was too much for NPC's to handle. Restocking ammo back in home station and repeating process without cashing in any bounties first (confident much?) followed a couple of times, until I decided to call it quits and plan my future outfitting. Ready to jump out when I spot a Clipper ahead and persuade myself to have one more fight. No SCB's left and hull nearly half down ? No problem, I've taken some of these before with ease. Pew pew, both at each others throats until the moment we're face to face. His Fragment cannons are reloading and I'm about to deliver the final blow. That's when he starts charging at me with his set of multi-cannons and my beams function more like pulse lasers. At this point, I think to myself that the darn shields can at least hold off the multi-cannons while I get rid of his 11% hull. WRONG. They instantly go down and what comes next is a strong feeling of disbelief as I watch my canopy breach and hear the dreadful 'Eject' warning. Result: total unclaimed bounties + rebuy cost = instant 2,7 mil loss.
I'm not mad (much) about it. However, I do feel the need to warn others here that using such weak shields can be an unnecessary gamble. They're ridiculously bad and will probably make you lose a ship to a situation where you'd normally come out from untouched. No matter the class, no matter the armor, bi-weave shields will act more as your Achilles heel and potentially set you back. If you already got one of those, my advice is to sell them and upgrade as soon as possible. You could even get roughly 200 Auto docking computers for the same price
