You have fun, Katie... That is the reason we play games (allegedly) 🄳

I find it funny that you suggest that in 6 months no-one (it is hyphenated, by the way) will be playing ED. (no-one being an inclusive, as you are aware, I'm sure ;))

no i suck at english dude - my spelling is terrible and i dont care :D

but what fdev have are really really amazing aspects of the game buried in a sea of boring and pointless grind - you remove the grind, you are left with pure gold

they just need to realize this, that ED should be a sandbox, not a life simulator

haha oh dude, the 'i suffered though terrible game design so you should too argument' is so tired :p

I just play the game.
Most parts of it: a bit of exploration, a bit of trading, a bit of mining, a bit of bgs, a bit of combat, some missions, a bit of AX.
And while doing so i also try to keep on the right side of the law since i hate getting bounties... i fail sometimes tho :D

yep but YOU alone are not gonna keep this franchise alive are you?

do you even buy ARX - I did, now that money goes to CIG :D

MMO
Career game
Character Progression

Obviously, ED is a niche game even in the above context, definitely not for everyone.
And if you keep mentioning the grind it only means one thing - you never played any of the old school mmos and you know nothing about the grind.

If i want a quick run, no strings attached, i start Fun Run 3 on my mobile phone. Chop some heads, roll over others and the likes. A race takes less than 2 minutes and it can be hilariously fun.
How many people are playing everquest 2?

You are arguing that game design should not progress when it is bad gameplay just because "back in my day games required zero skill time sinks."

If you want to use the F1 example. How much time does that F1 driver spend building the car and turning a wrench?

Zero. They spend their time practicing. What do they practice? The very activity they do when it is race day. They practice racing.

Kate grinding mats at Crystal forest is the same thing as an F1 Racer spending their prep time working as a mechanic.

Racers want to race. AX want to kill thargoids.

Let them.

One can only hope.

And yes, i did buy Arx, for carriers iirc.
And they look like crap now, in EDO. But i know they will be fixed eventually.

No guarantees in the other pasture šŸ˜‡

Let me offer an example of how grind hurts the game : Bringing new players into the game - that is, brining new players into the economy of Elite Dangerous.

Because new players buy the game and expansions, and spend money on ARX and all that

Die hard players of any profession will be involved in activities that NEED an engineered ship at least - and that means that new players cannot just buy the game and join in with your fun, no, they have to spend hours grinding out a ship or synth or whatever. So we do not recommend the game to our friends, because they cannot get involved without a ton of work.

So that's new players with their potential spending on arx and expansions lost right there. I know as i have had this experience many times, the idea of brining friends in but the realization of what would be involved and just thinking its not worth it

No, i'm just saying it's so much better in Horizons
And even better in EDO.

Did you know you can buy G3 stuff in EDO? Sometimes even pre-modded? šŸ™ƒ

Doesn't SC contain actual train commuting? LOL.

No wonder it happens like that.
Everything can be payed for in that greener(?) pasture. After all, all they seem to need is money.

Edit: and who would grind in an Alpha? people are supposed to be testing stuff... šŸ™ƒ

I'm amazed by how, with the criticism aimed at engineering (& synth for some stuff) in Horizons, Frontier could bring out DLC with a 'new batch' of engineers and even greater materials requirements, without even the relief of "power of 3" on pickups! (and rarity of some mats making HGE's look plentiful!).

So, yeah, agreed :poop:

ā€œWeā€, ā€œsomeā€, ah well I guess that’s me told.
"We" because I include myself. Me + others = we, unless my English is failing me.
I do not watch football, so I don't include myself. And I can't presume everyone is watching football, if only through my personal experience. So I used "some".

It wasn't meant to be rude or anything, merely as an explanation.

Watching football for some people is like watching a stream for others. Not exactly the same, but it's the same concept.

just go play it dude - there's no other way really to communicate the difference in quality and respect for player time.

Like, you wont, obviously - but I had to recommend it at least ;)

True. Though I dont watch football between players of dubious skills because of their 'personality', which is what most 'big streamers' rely on. But it can be fun to watch a stream if someone with actual skills and knowledge. Like isinona Vs OA.
