Having been diagnosed with coeliac disease five years ago, I have to eat "specially crafted gluten free" biscuits. They cost five times as much and have a fifth of the taste of a proper biccy you can dunk into your tea (coffee lovers - meh, off back to Europe/America).

The biscuit I miss the most is the plain old McVitie's Digestive. No chocolate or any other fanciness, just a plain old digestive. Dunking for Heaven!

Gutted! Well, your story will make me appreciate biscuits even more.

I was very surprised not to see ginger nuts there.

Friend of a friend was visiting her husband in hospital after an op, she went to the little shop and picked up the first pack of biscuits she saw as a treat for him, turned out to be ginger nuts.

Yep Garibaldis are squashed fly biscuits in this house too.

I am not keen on Garibaldis, which is a pity as I am a fan of Garibaldi.
