Bit dissapointing

Just registered for the Alpha, downloaded and launched.
Can't get the graphics to play ball. The pointer doesn't line up with the selection, tried my monitors native res but it's miles off, tried all the res's I can but all miles off, makes menu selection all but impossible.
Once I launch the game I can't even click the "next" button to start the Waste Disposal scenario because the mouse pointer is too far off beam to find it.

Is this a known issue? Drivers are up to date, no problems with other games.

I haven't heard about it.

I had problems while my laptop was docked and connected to a second (primary) display.

After I undocked, and restarted the Alpha, it worked.

I got one guess, you could try out: check your windows desktop settings. Somewhere under screen resolution, you can fiddle with the screen/dpi -scaling or something along those lines. Check if it in something different from 100% - maybe setting it to 100% could help?

I'm not in the Alpha so can only be of limited help but:

Is there alpha forums you can try?
Is there a "report bugs" button?

Also the forums my be of more help if you list computer, cpu, gpu, mouse, operating system etc.

Seems to be a mouse issue. Windowed or full it's the same, any res makes no difference, mouse pointer is several inches off in both directions, never seen this before. I waited at the Waste disposal launch and the scenario started but any mouse movement in any direction just translates to a gentle drift to the left.
Some keyboard controls seem to be working. I'll have to have a thorough dig about and report back. Unplayable at the moment though.
******.

Right, Hardware Cursor setting off has aligned the mouse properly in the menus, still drifting to the left in game though.
Getting there!

Urgh! Awful! Can't align mouse in the introduction dialog and once in game it just drifts to the left and runs at about 2 frames a second.
As a guide I get 60 fps in Skyrim with Ultra on this rig.
How do you show frame rate? I thought it was ctrl-F but this isn't working in game.

Never seen this before. You should probably send in bug report and make sure you in include your hardware specs...that's what alpha is for. ;)

I feel sorry for you though! :( Hope you find a solution!

No, ctrl+f shows no FPS. I used Fraps to check my FPS.

My hardware is:
Quadcore i7 @ 2.6 ghz (8 logical CPUs)
4gb ram
NVIDIA Quadro K1000M

And my FPS with all settings on high...

Wait for it...

wait for it...

12 Frames Per Second.

:)

For the mouse issue - do you have any other controllers etc. connected to the PC via USB?

Couple of questions: what Graphics card do you have in your machine? If it is a dedicated card, do you have GFX card on your motherboard, if so make sure the game isn't trying to use that.

ETA: You say your drivers are up to date, have you checked if DirectX is up to date?
Try running this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Only other controller is a cyborg x5, this is recognised by windows but ignored by the Alpha, game behaves the same if I unplug it anyway. This machine has 2 GTX 580 cards in SLI and Fraps is telling me I've got 4 fps! Something seriously wrong here.

Not to worry, getting too tired to bother now. This is my second rig anyway, my serious gamer one is in for repair because the power supply borked, I'll wait till I get that back and try again.

Total confidence in Frontier, I'm one of the old gits who played this game for a thousand hours below deck on the HMS Victory on a wind up Acorn Electron back in the 17th century. I know it'll be fine.

I'm no genius in this area but could the SLI setup have something to do with it?

Could you try single card?

Surely it'd be possible to write a script to handle the access?

If it's drifting to the left, I'd guess it isn't a graphics card problem?

Have you tried a different mouse? Do you have the mouse 'bundled' software installed - if so, have you tried deleting it? Different port etc?

Everyone is trying to help you blind here.

System stats would help.

How about mouse drivers?

Also, a quad core cpu is recommended; I can confirm that the cpu is put to good use, with some people finding themselves with the GPU doing next to nothing because the CPU can't cope.
